@Leyo: According to the source, Greenland is not part of the convention, so I removed it (not the island, but the color...). On that map Greenland is part of Denmark, even though it says Upon ratification on 17 December 2003, Denmark had notified the Secretary-General of the following: With a territorial exclusion in respect of the Faroe Islands and Greenland. on the UNTC website.

The only distinction that matters is whether a country is a party (has ratified) of a non-party (hasn't ratified). Signature is not really relevant. --Leyo 22:30, 19 June 2018 (UTC)

Greenland "is an autonomous constituent country within the Kingdom of Denmark" (enwiki). So when Denmark ratifies the convention, but says Greenland is excluded, it means that the convention is not applied to that territory - just like Greenland is not a member of the EU, although Denmark is.
