The "Silent Land"

The description here mentions the "Silent Land", but doesn't say what it is. The only "Silent Land" I could find was a film by the US Navy, shown in 1950 to the to the Arctic Circle group (listed here). The link to the source isn't found any longer, but a search there for "iceberg McMurdo Sound" gives pages for the three ships involved; the Glacier page mentions the Silent Land but doesn't explain it; the others don't even mention it (so it's even possible, if the Naval History website is updated, that the caption on the Glacier page has been influenced by what is here on Commons).
