Older maps

@Mr. Matté: Could you tell me how you derived this map from the map with town borders? I've been trying to make older maps, so that I can map seat changes in older Senate elections (1971–2007) but it's difficult. Did you redraw all of the districts by hand? The union tool doesn't work because the shapes don't actually overlap; I still have to deleted all of the internal lines and make individual adjusts. Thinking of a few other methods but wanted to see if you had any advice first. -A-M-B-1996- (talk) 21:06, 17 July 2021 (UTC)Reply

Those files were created by me over a decade ago using a now-realized poorly traced municipal map of the state (georeferenced from a pre-1997 image) and . For creating svg files with ease of unioning, I would suggest a map like File:2020 NJ senate results by muni graduated.svg which is based on GIS data and does have overlapping data which is good for union functions. —Mr. Matté - En. Thanks! That should be doable; will just have to open two files next to each other and keep an eye out for those tiny Bergen County towns. -A-M-B-1996- (talk) 01:08, 21 July 2021 (UTC)Reply
