Fake

I think the picture is a fake. First of all there was only one prototype and there are two in the picture. Furthermore, putting one bar on top of the other would damage them (but it could be allowed when the prototypes are no more in use).

But it is a fine picture. Handige Harrie (talk) 21:37, 20 October 2009 (UTC)

Upside down

Not necessarily a fake, but I think you will find that these two prototypes have been positioned upside-down. See the correct orientation sketched at the bottom of this page: http://museum.nist.gov/object.asp?ObjID=37.
