No English = idiot?

Deutsch: Die Originalbeschreibung dieses Bildes sagt (meine Übersetzung):

"…um völlig idiotensicher zu sein, müssten Übersetzungen in … und noch ein Dutzend europäischer Sprachen dabeistehen."

Ich muss zugeben, dass mir hier erst einmal die Spucke weggeblieben ist. Es ist ja klar, dass für Engländer zunächst mal Englisch kommt (in Ordnung, geht mir mit Deutsch genauso), dann kommt lange Zeit nichts, dann kommt nochmals Englisch. Aber dass jemand jeden, der nicht gut Englisch spricht (so wie ich), als Idioten bezeichnet, hat mich etwas überrascht. Können wir so eine Beschreibung bei Wikimedia Commons akzeptieren, auch wenn Englisch hier die Obersprache ist?

English: The original description of this picture says:

"…to be totally idiot-proof, it would have to be accompanied by translations into Romanian, Polish and another dozen European languages"

I must admit that I was aghast at this remark. Alright, for the English English comes first – of course, same thing here with German. And then there's nothing on second place, or on third… and then there's English again. Why not. But to call everybody who does not speak English well (such as myself) an idiot was somewhat of a surprise for me. Can we really keep such a description in Wikimedia Commons, even if English is its "super" language?

Deutsch: Ich ziehe meine Bedenken zurück. Man kann die Beschreibung auch so interpretieren, dass jemand, der diesen Weg mit einem Kfz befährt, unabhängig von der Sprache ein Idiot sein muss. Ich würde die Straße zwar nicht mit einem Sattelschlepper benutzen, aber mit einem Mittelklasse-Pkw schon.

English: I withdraw my concerns. The original description can be interpreted to that anybody using this road with a motor vehicle is – independent of her/his language – an idiot. I, myself, certainly would not use it with an articulated truck but possibly with a passenger car. My bad.
