I've reverted the speedy deletion request because the frame here is (very famously) ACTUALLY PART OF THE PAINTING. In fact it is not a "frame" the whole thing is one piece of wood, and the "carved" inscription is actually painted. I agree the new image is A) much better & B) may not be suitable for Commons, but since fair-use criteria would apply, it should be moved to at least en:wikipedia. NB since the painting & frame are a single object, it is questionable whether a photo of a part (the flat image) is acceptable for Commons. Johnbod (talk) 13:00, 21 May 2011 (UTC)Reply

Assuming the frame is part of the painting (the entire work is two-dimensional) there is no issue having the frame. I've reverted it for now. Please clarify whether this is the case. Dcoetzee (talk) 00:39, 23 May 2011 (UTC)Reply
