Are we sure that is a maxillary ostium? I'm not saying it's too big to be a maxillary ostium, but I'm trying to imagine what vantage point was used to acquire this picture. That image has way too much depth to be a maxillary sinus.

Are we sure that isn't just the back of the nose and that is the sphenoid in the background?
