Aren't both photograph same? edit

Hi EugeneZelenko plz see...the uploader has uploaded a poor quality image of the image already uploaded on wikimedia commons. Isn't it a cropped version and poor quality extraction of this image.

No they aren't. Read the caption of the image which you have uploaded, it is an engraving of Original Photograph. And the one which I've uploaded is the Original Photograph.

@EugeneZelenko: there is a recent dispute between HA and me on Bihari Rajput[1] ( See heading Anony20). Thus HA hastily wants my image to be deleted from wikicommons Anony20 (talk) 12:53, 1 December 2020 (UTC)Reply

Your image is of poor quality and the source is same I.e for both image. You have been involved in Copyvio earlier too..like recent ur Amethia Rajput was deleted as it was facebook image. I believe that all these images are fraudulent too.Don't remove tag...leave it to admins.Heba Aisha (talk) 13:19, 1 December 2020 (UTC)Reply
  • If there exists a photograph, and an engraving of that photograph, then that is not a reason to delete either from Commons. They're certainly not duplicates (which means copies of exactly the same medium - ie two copies of the photograph, or two copies of the engraving). Poor image quality is also not a reason to delete something from Commons, if it's the best version of the image in that medium that we have - a better quality photograph could certainly be uploaded if one were available. If there's a problem with copyright, then that's a different issue. But I don't think there should be a problem with copyright of a photograph dated from 1857 - in fact, it appears to be correctly tagged with appropriate public domain details. If you believe an image here is "fraudulent", then you would need to explain what you mean by that. As far as I know (I'm not an expert on Commons policy), I think anyone can contest a speedy deletion request by simply removing it - I don't think it's necessary to wait for an admin. In short, I don't think any valid reason for deletion has been presented here. Finally, which one is used in an article on English Wikipedia is a different issue, to be decided there - and disputes from English Wikipedia should not be carried over to Commons to try to win them here.
