4-fold coordinate silica edit
This image is a two dimensional representation of the atomic structure of amorphous silica. Silicon is 4-fold coordinated by oxygen in Silica. However, because this image is two-dimensional only three oxygen atoms are visible. The fourth oxygen atom is hidden from view by the silicon atom. Hence, this image is an accurate representation of the atomic structure of silica. Jdrewitt (talk) 11:27, 1 January 2010 (UTC)
