I'm guessing that Clissold Park was an anti-aircraft site, like Victoria Park, and that it was coordinated from the town hall, so it was seen as a target. But why the library, at least on the town hall side? Incidentally, that shot has some good old pre-smokeless zone grime in it too. Tarquin Binary 23:22, 25 January 2006 (UTC)Reply

Another possibility is that many other public buildings were camoed (can't find much reference to this), but something about the paint and type of bricks used here made it peculiraly hard to clean. Actually it would have to be just the paint, because the library isn't built with the same sort of bricks. Tarquin Binary 17:09, 26 January 2006 (UTC)Reply
