This image is anachronistic, as it shows the borders of present-day Sweden, which have no correspondence to the administrational borders of 1658. The Sweden proper included at that time Svealand, Götaland and Finland, which had the right to send representatives to the Diet. On the other hand, Swedish law was used in Kexholms län (Finnish Käkisalmen lääni), Trondelagen and Scania, while Roman law and local customs were followed in Baltic provinces. The areas on German soil were part of the Holy Roman Empire, and the local law was followed. The present-day Sweden does not correspond to any of these divisions. It includes Scania, which was not allowed to send representatives to the diet, and excludes Finland, which was part of Sweden proper. --MPorciusCato 09:19, 17 April 2007 (UTC)
