Some ideas:

  • mark longitude zero
  • have longitudes for all full hours, i.e. 24 instead of 12 longitudes
  • maybe show the 60° latitude completely, so the whole en:South_Ocean is seen
  • UTC+0 could use color #ff0000, and from there until UTC+5 all could use the base colors as defined in Category:UTC hue4maps
  • -3 and -4 the colors seem incorrect, see en:Time_in_Brazil or Category:UTC hue4maps: -3 should be cyan, -4 green.

If the colors for -3 and -4 are switched the two greens in the map would be opposite to each other, marking -4 and +8 a 12 hour distance. TZ master (talk) 10:46, 7 October 2011 (UTC)Reply

Great, like the changes from 14 October. For hue4 conformance:

  • +13 is f99492 (hue=1, which is almost red, hue=0) , should be yellow (hue=60).
  • -6 is b0b000 which is a yellow(hue=60), but it should have hue=0
  • +6 is ff7f27 (hue=24), should be hue=0

Suggest

  • +13 aaaa00 (hue=60)
  • +6 ff6666 (hue=0)
  • -6 ff9999 (hue=0)

Note: UTC+0 is ff0000 (hue=0) TZ master (talk) 10:18, 14 October 2011 (UTC)Reply

accuracy

edit

This map is used at Time in Antarctica, but it does not seem to match the information in that article. Research stations in Antarctica also lists many sites with their respective time zones. Either these articles need to be corrected or the map does. Another thing that seems unclear is whether the time zone applies only to the stations or to entire segments of the continent, as this map implies. While certain countries have claims to certain segments, can/do they impose time zones, or would the majority of the continent be treated like the open seas? --Lasunncty (talk) 08:58, 15 May 2020 (UTC)Reply
