I don't think this work is in the Dallas Museum of Art

edit

At least not currently. It's not listed in their online catalogue, and Christie's has, in association with an auction, a record of who owned this painting (http://www.christies.com/LotFinder/lot_details.aspx?intObjectID=5324539), none of whom point to Dallas. It's possible that Bouguereau made more than one copy of this painting (I don't know) and that one of them was owned by the Dallas Museum of Art while it was still named the Dallas Museum of Fine Arts (back in the 1970s, I think), but from all I can see, this piece is not currently in the DMA's possession. 70.129.177.19 17:32, 20 July 2011 (UTC)Reply

Just to follow up -- in all of the many times I've visited the museum, I have never seen this piece. If they owned it, you would think it would be one of the more prominent showpieces that they'd keep on display all the time, but I've never seen it. 70.129.177.19 17:40, 20 July 2011 (UTC)Reply
