Intermission-free Wings overwrite?

edit

Saw that the current upload omits most of the Paramount intro, retains a minute long intermission (which is pointless without the copyrighted music score recording) and has some scenes and interitles (particularly the opening titles) windowboxed.

There's an alternate version without the Intermission which uses the Gaylord Carter score (Upload from an older home video release), so i tought i could use my editing skills to correct the windowboxed scenes and match the HD file from the current restoration with that Intermission-free version.

But this means that, after i overwrite the current file, someone has to redo the transcript timed-text (just like that time i overwrited File:The Jazz Singer (1927).webm).

On a side note, shouldn't the Handschiegl color scenes (which were recreated from a B&W print with modern tecnology for the current restoration) make that restored version a separate work? Mayimbú (talk) 02:07, 1 June 2023 (UTC)Reply

@Mayimbú: It's ok, go ahead and upload the better version. I'll mark the Wikisource transcription as needing timestamps fixed. It's not a huge deal, since the text will still be the same in both versions; the timestamps being off is only an issue with precise verification of the material for transcription.
