Cosmetic variations

edit

Apparently, different issues of the ZX Spectrum were slightly different cosmetically, too. My own Spectrum looks very similar to the one shown. However, the "ZX Spectrum" logo in the top-left is black (although perhaps this has been worn off). However, I've seen a picture of a Spectrum with slightly different arrow symbols on keys 5-8... and I've read that the Issue 2 Spectrums had blue keys! Which issue is this machine? Should the date (1982) be changed? StuartBrady 23:50, 7 January 2006 (UTC)Reply

By the way, if machine has the board shown in Image:ZXspectrum mb.jpg, the date should be 1984, as "84" is printed on many of the ICs. StuartBrady 00:10, 8 January 2006 (UTC)Reply
My Spectrum has an Issue 3 board, which was manufactured in 1984. It has blueish-grey keys, which was introduced with Issue 3 machines. I always put down the release date, rather than the actual manufacture date. The the cosmetic differences are very minor to warrant a change in the release year but the cosmetic info would be good to mention in the article though. — Pixel8 19:53, 8 January 2006 (UTC)Reply
