Hüttenberger Hoftore

Deutsch: Hüttenberger Hoftore sind hohe bäuerliche Holztore im Hüttenberger Land. Handwerklich wertvoll sind Holztore mit Schnitzereien aus dem 18. und 19. Jahrhundert. Die industrielle Holzverarbeitung ab 1860/70 bereitete dem Kunsthandwerk ein Ende. Diese Liste zählt die von Helmut Nachtigall in den vier Landkreisen Gießen, Lahn-Dill, Marburg und Wetterau beschriebenen Tore auf (siehe Literatur). Nicht alle Tore sind Hessische Kulturdenkmäler. Weitere Hoftore mit Denkmalschutz, die jedoch nicht von Nachtigall beschrieben wurden (meist jüngere) werden weiter unten gelistet.

English: Hüttenberger Hoftore are high wooden peastant yard gates with handmade and often individual carvings. The gates peaked in the middle of the 19th century in the small area of Hüttenberger Land in central Hesse, Germany before industrial wood-working replaced handmade production.
