English: This gallery is for the historical Kingdom of England, a sovereign state in North-West Europe in existence from the 10th century until 1 May 1707, when during the reign of Queen Anne the Acts of Union joined England and Scotland to form the Kingdom of Great Britain. On 1 January 1801, following a further Act of Union, this kingdom of Great Britain was united with the Kingdom of Ireland to create the en:United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland. After the en:Irish War of Independence (1919–1921) most of Ireland seceded from the Union, which then became the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland.
