Operation Ivy

English: Operation Ivy was a series of two nuclear tests done by the United States in 1952. Ivy Mike was the first test of a thermonuclear weapon, detonated on October 31/November 1, 1952 by the United States. It had a yield of 10 megatons. Ivy King was a test of a very high yield pure-fission bomb, detonated on November 15, 1952, with a yield of 500 kilotons.
