Routemaster bus RM324
English: Routemaster bus RM324 (reg. WLT 324) was delivered to London Transport in April 1960. It was used in London until being withdrawn in April 1994 and passing to the reserve fleet at Hatfield in March 1995. In 1997 it was bought by the West Yorkshire based operator Halifax Joint Committee, who used it in working preservation, painting it in their green white and orange colours, based on Halifax corporation (as in this image). In 2000 it was one of a batch of buses bought back by London Bus Services Ltd, being rebuilt and re-engined (Cummins) by Marshall's of Cambridge, for further use in London. It went into operation on route 13 from July 2001 for Sovereign Bus & Coach, before being finally withdrawn in October 2005. After being returned to LBSL, it was selected as one of the few buses to continue in service on the Routemaster Heritage Routes, going into service allocated to East London on London Buses heritage route 15 from November 2005.
