Red and cream clear sables
Dark liver sable with heavier sabling
Extremely clear creamy liver sable
Faint "veil" of tipped hair in mantle shape
Very heavy sable
Extremely heavy sable. Windblown part on body proves this is sable, not black-and-tan.
Part in the abundant Sheltie coat exhibiting the clearness of undercoat even when the sabling is heavy--the eumelanin is restricted to tips only. Agouti would have banded hair with tips.
Even heavier sable. Length of overcoat leads to the black pigment "falling" down the sides.
Extremely clear cream sable. Black pigment is visible on the whiskers on the left side. Blue eye may suggest cryptic merle pattern.
Same dog, side view. Peculiar uneven pigmentation on body is further indication of merle presence.
Short coat with medium sabling, readily visible merle pattern.
