Stamps of the Kingdom of Württemberg

This page shows stamps issued in the Kingdom of Württemberg between 1851 and 1923. After 1902 stamps of the German Empire replaced them, except the official stamps which weree issued and used until 1923.

Kingdom of Württemberg as it existed from the end of the Napoleonic Wars to the end of World War I. From 1815 to 1866 it was a member state of the German Confederation and from 1871 to 1918 it was a federal state in the German Empire.

First issue October 15, 1851 (1852) edit

Numerals, inscribed Deutsch = Oester. Postverein. Vertrag v. 6. April 1850. Values 1 to 18 kreuzer on coloured paper.

1857-1859 edit

The 1857 issue (Michel 6-10) contains a silk thread.
