  • no-notice (for US works published without copyright notice)
  • no-renewal (for US works where copyright not renewed - for pre-1964 publication only, as renewal not required after this date).
  • no-formalities (for non-US works published in the US after more than 30 days, where US formalities were not complied with)

Template will tell you if setting this would place the work in the public domain - don't worry about it in every case. See Commons:Hirtle chart.
