This template is intended to be used to warn a Commons user that a file he/ she has uploaded to Commons appears to have an invalid entry in the "Source" parameter. It gives examples of frequent Source mistakes and suggests how these might be corrected. If the invalid Source entry has already been corrected, the template gives the person placing it the opportunity to indicate this fact. It should not be placed on the file to which it refers, and does not affect the appearance of that file. Your signature will not be automatically added when you use this template— you should place four tildes after the template in order to generate your signature, like this: {{subst:sourcefield|1=File:thisistheone.jpg}}~~~~.

Usage

{{Sourcefield |1= |2= |3= }}

If the file in question has no source at all or clearly has an invalid source, consider placing the {{No source since}} tag on the file; this will mark the file for deletion unless a valid source can be identified within seven days
