Template talk:Created with Text Editor

This really should be moved to Template:HandSVG. This is only for SVGs, and anything can be created with a text editor (e.g. this). mate2code 20:33, 6 April 2013 (UTC)

The source code of File:Compressed nimber multiplication table; tensor.png was created with a text editor, but definitely not the PNG file itself. Of the image types allowed on Commons, SVG is the only one where the image file itself has a textual format. AnonMoos (talk) 20:00, 9 April 2013 (UTC)

File talk:Share white.svgEdit

On File:Share white.svg {{HandSVG|3=H}} resulted in an undocumented "valid" tag. This should be handled by an explicit {{ValidSVG}} or {{InvalidSVG}} as on almost all (?) other SVGs. As it happens this image actually was "valid", lots of other CC logo SVGs are invalid. Template:SimplSVG also implicitly sets "valid", but in that case it's documented. –Be..anyone (talk) 21:07, 3 March 2014 (UTC)

When SVG files are drawn by hand it is assumed that they contain none of the many tool-generated errors; the parameter err[num] is defaulted with "0" (ok, that is not well documented). If an explicit ValidSVG or InvalidSVG is written, it cannot be connected to the "Created with"-templates and two categories are used: the "created with tool" category with an unspecified W3C result, and the other one.
I try to avoid putting all the files in the overcrowded categories with many thousands of entries, therefore I combined the validation result with the "created"-template. W3C-errors must be specified with their number, while "valid" or "err=0" is the default. -- sarang사랑 16:47, 2 October 2018 (UTC)
