Daniel D'Auria, M.D. is a gastroenterologist and photographer residing in southern New Jersey. Born in Staten Island, New York, on May 22, 1957 to Anthony and Dolores D'Auria. He lived the first 5 years of his life on Staten Island. His parents moved to Somerset, New Jersey in the early 1960"s where he spent his childhood and adolescent years. In 1985 he graduated from Franklin High School and went on to study Biology at the University of Scranton, in Scranton, Pennsylvania. In 1978 he essentially "dropped out" of college and travelled to Perugia, Italy, where he spent the next year in an accelerated program preparing for the examination of maturita for Liceo Scientifico. In June of that year he completed his studies and enrolled in Medical School at the Univerity of Turin, in Italy. In 1983 he transferred to Rutger's Medical School. He moved to Barrington, New Jersey where he resided for the next few years. He married Donna Kinzel in 1984. They eventually moved to Tabernacle, New Jersey in 1986. They had 3 daughters, Christina, Rachel and Lauren. In 1995 they were divorced. Daniel met and later married Kimberly Martin. They returned to Tabernacle and had one son, Anthony.

Daniel graduated medical school in May of 1985. He began residency in Internal Medicine that year at Cooper Hospital/University Medical Center (a UMDNJ affiliate). He was awarded the Intern of the Year Award in 1985 and completed his residency training in 1988. That academic year he began fellowship training in Gastroenterology. He completed his training in 1990 and started a solo practice in Gastroenterology. He developed a successful medical practice and remained in solo until 2009 at which time he created Digestive Health Physician, PA and took on an associate.

Daniel has a strong interest in photography which began in his early teens. He had his first darkroom at the age of 11 years. Although his hobby of photography took a back seat to his studies in medicine, he rekindled his interests in the late 1990's, with a darkroom in his attic. Digital photography was born, and he took an immediate interest in the medium. He enjoys a variety of subject matter and is a member of NAPP(National Association of Photoshop Professionals). He continues to work in his practice of gastroenterology, but can be found searching for interesting subject matter in the interest of artistic photography.
