Summary
edit- The majority of my time in April was dedicated to Outreach activities.
- Ram Navami, a widely celebrated festival in India, falls on April 17th. Inspired by this, I organized a photography walk in Bhadrachalam town, known for one of the largest Ram Navami celebrations in India. This initiative was later named the Wikimedia Exploration Program: Bhadrachalam.
- I participated in a photo-walk organized by Fujifilm] at the Qutub Shahi Tombs in Hyderabad, which provided insight into the size of the photographic community in the city.
- Subsequently, I reached out to various photography groups such as Beyond Hyderabad and the VJIT photography club.
- I set up forms and conducted online sessions where participants signed up and created wiki accounts, preparing them for the Bhadrachalam event.
- With the financial assistance from CIS - A2K, I arranged travel and accommodation for participants, though at Khammam instead of Bhadrachalam due to availability constraints.
- The photography walk was successful, receiving positive feedback from participants.
- I developed a campaign and compiled a list of categories with prefill forms, simplifying the process for participants making their first contributions.
- Through one participant, Ramesh Kumar, we learned about the Hyderabad Exhibition hosted by the 24 Hour Project, and we scheduled a meeting with founding members for May.
