My uploaded files.Edit

I expect all my uploaded files to be photographs.

Photo portfoliosEdit

I compiled several WikiCommons picture files of specific topics that I have high interests or are my favorites. Please note that these pictures belong to other photographers (may be from WikiCommons, Flickr, and the like), and usage of these outside Wikimedia Commons should follow the licensing notices that these users have posted on the description pages of those picture files. Otherwise, such usage not conforming to their licensing guidelines may evolve into copyright infringement or violations. All attributions of my included photos are to their authors / creators, as indicated in the field "author" of each of the photos's description pages.

Some helpful guidelines
  1. Regarding file renaming - the pro's and con's. Do the file's name reflects what it describes, when it was taken, or who took it?
  2. Wait! We must need to have image files organized.... Prevent chances of having "orphan, lost images"
  3. Do our countries permit freedom of panorama? - specifically Philippines? China? The country of origin? United States (where Wikimedia Commons's HQ is based)?

Copyright in your photo?Edit

A passage from states:

"Under U.S. law, copyright in a photograph is the property of the person who presses the shutter on the camera — not the person who owns the camera, and not even the person in the photo. Unless a written agreement exists that makes the photo a work made for hire, any person you ask to take your picture with your camera owns the copyright in that photo — not you."

Generally, copyright laws around the world follow the U.S. jurisprudence with regards to who holds the copyright your photo. Possession and copyright are two different things.

Criteria for deletionEdit

To summarize my points about deletions here

I tend to be neutral to very heated DR's on photos due to No-FOP's. But if a photo deserves to be kept because of the de minimis principle, I try my best to defend it through a comment. But in most cases I leave the decision-making to longtime or veteran uploaders and administrators.

However, these are "among" the cases in which photo files (or other files) should and must be deleted ("among" means this list of mine is not exhaustive):

  1. Copyright violation - whether obvious or suspected. Obvious = SPEEDY or DR. Suspected = DR. Typical cases include Google Maps screenshots, suspected file names and/or descriptions, suspected or mal-formed metadata, or traces of watermarks.
  2. License laundering - more worse than copyright violation IMO. Pandaraya ng lisensiya, bawal ang mga panloloko!
  3. Fair use photos/images/videos - are always unacceptable here.
  4. Out of scope - includes personal photos. Exempli gratia: blog-like, and selfies of contributors having no constructive edits on any wiki sites.
  5. "Poisoning the well" - for example, a photo of a politician from the opposition tarnished with Nazi-like symbols.
  6. Empty or corrupted photos.
  7. Unused and obsolete/outdated infographics- for maps or graphs, that haven't been updated for days or weeks. For these cases, in compliance with Commons talk:Superseded images policy, a usual DR is a must.

Duplicate files are treated with {{Duplicate}}.
