This page is a work in progress, so don't be surprised that it looks like a chaotic amount of pictures. I am observing the potential of pictures in a Wikimedia wiki environment for language learning.

I have several goals:

  • To help language learning wikibooks' writers to find pictures for enriching their works.
  • To show ways how these pictures could be used.
  • To see the limitations of the wiki environment: What can be done? What not?
  • The same for Wikiversity.
  • To distinguish which tasks are more appropiate in a wikibook and which ones in a learning group o wikiversity.
  • To attract teachers to Wikibooks and Wikiversity by showing them the huge potential of Wikimedia Commons vast media repository for creating wiki-based language learning activities.

  • In Category:Teaching literacy, created for Wikijunior, are more particular literacy images with words related to animals.
  • It would be convenient to work together with audio files where the sound of every letter can be heard. Additionally an alphabet song could also be uploaded.

Posibles usos

  • Diferenciación de ser y estar (A1-A2) (con wiki-quiz):
    • Función de estar para localizar lugares y de ser para localizar eventos.
    • Función copulativa de ser, atribuye característica que se considera inherente al sujeto, no temporal.
    • Indefinido (A2-B1)
