Here are some possible guidelines for Commons:Featured picture candidates(de) and Commons:Featured pictures(de) like suggested by norro

Candidates

en:

- Clear license + licensed under an allowed license
- 15 days voting period
- Nominations by IP-adresses are welcome
- Contributions to discussion by IP-adresses are welcome
- Votes by IP-adresses aren't counted

If you nominate a picture, don't forget to ensure appropriate tagging and description of the image.

de:

- Lizenz geklärt. Lizensiert unter einer zugelassenen Lizenz
- 15 Tage Abstimmungs-Zeitraum
- Bild-Vorschläge von IP-Adressen sind willkommen
- Diskussionsbeiträge von IP-Adressen sind willkommen
- Stimmabgaben von IP-Adressen werden nicht gezählt

Bitte stelle im Falle einer Nominierung unbedingt sicher, dass das Bild über eine geeignete Bildbeschreibung und Kennzeichnung der Lizenz verfügt.

Featured picture

en:

- Appropriate license (of course)
- At least 5 supporting votes
- Ratio of supporting/opposing votes at least 2/1 (that means a two-thirds majority, at least 67% supporting)

de:

- Zugelassene Lizenz (selbstverständlich)
- Mindestens 5 Pro-Stimmen ("Support")
- Verhältnis von Pro-/Contra-Stimmen mindestens 2/1 (bedeutet eine 2/3-Mehrheit, also mind. 67% Pro-Stimmen)

Looks good to me. Although we could shorten the voting period to 14 days, so we get 2 weeks for voting. Maybe we also should start a "featured pictures removal candidates", if there are for some reason pictures that shouldn't be featured anymore. --Conti|✉ 16:29, 25 Apr 2005 (UTC)

Yes, perhaps it's a good idea, to nominate them again on the same page (because it's often frequented), provided with the add on "deselection" or "voting out" or something like that. Do you think, there have to be other formalities for this kind of voting? Regards, norro 13:49, 26 Apr 2005 (UTC)

Votes for removal are handled differently on the other wikipedias, on some they are on the same page as the featured candidates, on some they have their own page. Template:Featured pictures candidates looks quite big already, so I'm not sure if the removal candidates should be on that page as well. But I like your guidelines for the featured picture candidates, maybe this page should be mentioned on the village pump, to get some more comments? --Conti|✉ 15:08, 26 Apr 2005 (UTC)
