Utilisation photo edit

Bonne continuation. Benh (talk) 08:48, 19 February 2009 (UTC)Reply

TE edit

Nice one!! Lycaon (talk) 21:26, 2 June 2009 (UTC)Reply

Thanks ! Actually, that is a trivial shot so I thought someone else would have come up with a similar pic soon or later. But Joaquim Alvesgaspar made me realise that Commons lacked a good quality picture of the tower and that this wouldn't likely change fast so... I'm very proud you like it. Hej ! it's now geocoded. Thanks. Benh (talk) 16:39, 5 June 2009 (UTC)Reply

Moved message from above edit

Salut Benh,

Photo details edit

Dear Benh, Your photos are an inspiration for someone just entering digital photography.

I was wondering whether you shot your picture of Saint Michel using HDR techniques? If so, how many exposures did you take and what was the spacing between exposures (+2, +1 2/3, etc).

Much thanks for sharing your work with the world!

Serouj (talk) 00:19, 13 September 2009 (UTC)Reply

Hi, thank for your kind words. That photo is made from a single shot, there was no special trick involved :) If you look carefully, you'll see some burnt out details in the center part. The lense was the 18-55mm kit one (not even the IS version !). My most recent shots often involve HDR tricks. I mostly use 3 bracketed shots -2, 0, +2. I use enfuse to combine the pictures. Resulting images often lacks contrast and saturation so I manually adjust with Gimp. There probably are better soft out there. Benh (talk) 09:19, 15 September 2009 (UTC)Reply

Opera Garnier edit

Hi Benh,

I just came across your photo of the Opera Garnier Grand Escalier and i was amaze, not only at the actual shot but also the quality.

I would love to use it as a background for a project i'm woking on. I need a larger size so

I can blow it up to about 12 feet. Is this possible? and if so how do i go about getting that?

Thank you Lpereyra (talk) 21:02, 13 September 2009 (UTC)Reply

Hi ! Thank you for the kind words ! Unfortunately, I don't have bigger size of the picture of Opera Garnier grand stair. I remember I downsampled the picture because of its very poor quality (taken at ISO 1600 and f/2.8) and had then deleted the RAWs. Sorry. Benh (talk) 09:19, 15 September 2009 (UTC)Reply

Eiffel Tower Permission? edit

Hi Benh,

I'm working on an educational DVD on beginning chemistry. May I have permission to show your top of the Eiffel Tower for the "Iron Segment" under a Creative Commons Attribute License for this project? I'll list your name and wiki site in the credits.

Regards, Wes --Wesolson123 (talk) 17:29, 18 September 2009 (UTC)Reply

Hi, as stated by the license, you are free to do so, as long as you give proper credits, which is what you want to do. Crediting wiki is not necessary, but doesn't harm anyone ! Because of the subject, be sure to read the warning about copyright status and understand the underlying consequences before doing anything. Thanks ! Benh (talk) 10:10, 21 September 2009 (UTC)Reply

Permission Request to Publish Eiffel Tower Photo edit

Dear Benh,

Your photo, "Eiffel Tower, seen from the champ de Mars, Paris, France," is absolutely wonderful and I would like permission to publish it in Materials Performance magazine with an article on the current repainting of the Eiffel Tower. If permission is granted, could you please let me know how you would like the photo credit to read. Thank you!

Kathy

Hi Kathy, I've sent you email and removed your address as "safety" measure. Benh (talk) 10:12, 21 September 2009 (UTC)Reply
