Hello, please kindly review the deletion of this file, the DR provided seems not to be the request for the same file. Otherwise, please leave a message here, thank you in advance.--Hamish (talk) 09:44, 1 January 2020 (UTC)
Hello, I think this is a bug done by the tool used to close the DR, sorry. The right DR is there and have also been closed as "deleted", as I agreed with the rationale. Christian Ferrer(talk) 13:55, 1 January 2020 (UTC)
Fine. In terms of TOO china, I would like to request your view on this case. And, I wish I could get the original file of the page on title, if it is possible, please advise.--Hamish (talk) 14:59, 1 January 2020 (UTC)
I think the deletion is justified, but the DR is open since yesterday and we usually wait at least 7 days. We will see at that time. Christian Ferrer(talk) 17:02, 1 January 2020 (UTC)
Thank you. And I'm sorry about the missing text above. What I wanted to say is that "please advise whether I could get the original file".--Hamish (talk) 16:56, 2 January 2020 (UTC)
Thank you.--Hamish (talk) 16:03, 3 January 2020 (UTC)

Hello Christian, can you delete this file? I have nominated it for deletion seven days ago & the case is clear. We have one vote for deletion as well. Thanks in advance, Chem Sim 2001 (disc) 08:55, 11 January 2020 (UTC)
Excellent, thanks for your help! I wish you a nice weekend! Regards, Chem Sim 2001 (disc) 09:06, 11 January 2020 (UTC)
Hey Christian, today I have uploaded this reaction equation. I made a mistake in the mechanism & there is also a vector error. I have replaced it with a newer version (linked in the deletion request) which corrects all errors. Can you delete the old version? Thanks in advance, Chem Sim 2001 (disc) 21:42, 11 January 2020 (UTC)
Great, thanks a lot for your help! Best regards, Chem Sim 2001 (disc) 09:33, 12 January 2020 (UTC)
Hello Christian, I have found this file on our Commons Chemistry project & it can be deleted. The file was nominated for deletion several days ago & the case is clear, proper & high-quality replacements exists! Thanks in advance, Chem Sim 2001 (disc) 06:04, 14 January 2020 (UTC)
Resolver allows you to quickly find an item based on a property+value string pair. It is especially useful for checking whether an external identifier such as a VIAF ID (P214) or Getty AAT ID (P1014) is already in use in Wikidata.
Hi again, I've looked through the OTRS templates and couldn't seem to find the right one. It's about File:Sissel-Jo Gazan.jpg where it's written under Licensing that the photographer has given permission. I assume such would need to be confirmed. TherasTaneel (talk) 23:50, 6 January 2020 (UTC)
Hi, thanks for the notification. I tagged the file with "No permission" and deleted 2 other files uploded by the same user. Christian Ferrer(talk) 05:44, 7 January 2020 (UTC)
Why my photo has beed deleted
I added one photograph of mine to ky page , why it has beed deleted? Vivekpandey Vvk755 (talk) 05:11, 10 January 2020 (UTC)
We have added the permission to our group homepage. Is it possible to restore the gif? Thanks. Or please let us know if we should upload the file again. Thank you very much for the help! — Preceding unsigned comment added by Ucrraman (talk • contribs) 19:54, 10 January 2020 (UTC)
Ok, I restored the image, and corrected the source/attribution. Regards, Christian Ferrer(talk) 20:35, 10 January 2020 (UTC)
Patrol user right
Hello, I would like to help out by patrolling new images. I have some basic knowledge of copyright—especially older European images, United States public domain, and own work. I am a New Page Patroller on enwiki and was recently granted autopatrol on Commons. In controversial cases, or if I am not sure, I would leave patrolling to more experienced users. Buidhe (talk) 07:15, 11 January 2020 (UTC)
Ok, thanks you for your help, I granted you the patroller right. Christian Ferrer(talk) 09:02, 11 January 2020 (UTC)
Thanks. It looks like you removed autopatrol. These are separate user groups so unless you think I shouldn't be autopatrolled, could I have that right back? Thank you! Buidhe (talk) 09:28, 11 January 2020 (UTC)
If I missed nothing, the autopatroller's rights are implicit part of the patroller's rights; that would be redundant; see Commons:Patrol#Autopatrol: "Users with the patrol user right should not be granted this right,...". Christian Ferrer(talk) 09:39, 11 January 2020 (UTC)
If you know how to mark this image which is supposed to be under GFDL and not the flickr PD-Mark license at the flickr source, feel free to do so. Best Regards, --Leoboudv (talk) 05:53, 12 January 2020 (UTC)
Hi, sorry I can not help very much. I don't know well the GFDL licenses, there is not the version number of the license. Christian Ferrer(talk) 06:49, 12 January 2020 (UTC)
Thank You Christian. Best Regards, --Leoboudv (talk) 10:41, 13 January 2020 (UTC)
Hello, I would like to ask you a request for image review as i am quite rookie around here. Well, i transferred an image from flickr to commons for an article. But, the bot is asking for a review by an administrator. So, can you please help me? Thank you! Lakshmisreekanth (talk) 19:21, 12 January 2020 (UTC)
Hello, the license is ok, however I can not review it, and I nominated it for deletion because the photo is a derivative work of depicted banner, and therefore further copyrights are involved. See Commons:Derivative works. Regards, Christian Ferrer(talk) 19:46, 12 January 2020 (UTC)
I guess it is not related to derived works because it is not derived from other sources. Could you please provide a source for the claims you added to the image? Lakshmisreekanth (talk) 04:30, 13 January 2020 (UTC)
Someone asked me on my talkpage to review this image but I think it is not free and does not follow COM:WHERE LICENSE. If you agree please review and fail this image. It is almost 3 AM and I am going to bed. Thank You, --Leoboudv (talk) 10:44, 13 January 2020 (UTC)
Hi, me too I'm not abble to find a free license, I tagged the image (and the cropped one too) with "No permission". Christian Ferrer(talk) 11:58, 13 January 2020 (UTC)
Tabernacle creates a tabular view of a set of data items from a SPARQL query, PagePile list, or manual list of items. You can select which languages and properties to display. The tool lets you drag-and-drop statements from one item to another, and manually add or edit statements without leaving the page. Tabernacle is great for harmonizing a set of related items or identifying items that need their labels and descriptions translated.
the copyright holder sends directly a permission to OTRS
cc-by-sa-4.0 was bogus here. The logo may be below Threshold of originality and I tagged it as such. However this case is borderline and I don't know at all Spain copyright law, and don't be surprised if someone nominate the file for deletion. Christian Ferrer(talk) 21:57, 14 January 2020 (UTC)
Do you know if I made a mistake in this DR? I don't know what CC BY license is mentioned or if it is CC BY NC. I don't even see the image file on the website actually but I did not mention that. Please feel free to make a reply against me in the DR if I am in error as I am certainly not perfect. Best Regards, --Leoboudv (talk) 08:49, 16 January 2020 (UTC)
Comment: I don't even know if the image is CC0 as the uploader states. --Leoboudv (talk) 08:50, 16 January 2020 (UTC)
IMO you're fully right, the main and first point is that the image is not visible... Secondly even if it was visible in the page quoted as a source, it fail the term of uses, because by reading I understand 1/the CC license apply only to articles, and not to the rest of the website 2/ even if my point 1 is wrong, there is not yet the precision of what kind of CC license and it may be a NC or ND license 3/ if the point 1 is right the rest of the web site is protected by copyright and not free of use (see section "Website Content").
I don't comment in the DR, I will close it as deleted in 7 days if nothing new has come. Christian Ferrer(talk) 09:19, 16 January 2020 (UTC)
Comment: Thank You Christian for the advice. Sometimes DRs are very confusing (or stressful) when an uploader makes claim X or Y and I don't know if I am right or wrong. Kind Regards from Vancouver where its 2:08 AM. Best Regards, --Leoboudv (talk) 10:08, 16 January 2020 (UTC)
Good evening Christian, could you please delete this file? I have nominated it for deletion seven days ago & the case is clear! Thanks in advance, Chem Sim 2001 (disc) 20:28, 17 January 2020 (UTC)
, Yemeni specifically designates works as public domain that were " created in Yemen," specifically "photographic work[s] produced more than ten years ago." While a URAA tag would necessitate publication info, it is incorrect to say that Yemeni PD is based on publication rather than creation. Thank you! Noahedits (talk) 07:18, 19 January 2020 (UTC)
Hi, if a photo is taken in Yemen and firt published in, example, France, so the copyright law of France apply. Independantly of what Yemen law says. Exemple if I go today to Yemen, I take a photo of a natural tree, I come back home, and I publish it into Wikimedia Commons, so the US copyright law apply because the servers are in USA. Unless I missed something, I'm pretty sure of that. Furthermore the wording "was created" is here a translation, and therefore may be subject to interpretation IMO. Problémes en VI
Bonjour, le Bot en VI ne passe plus depuis quelques jours. Habituellement notre ami Dschwen débloque le situation, mais il semble être absent depuis quelques mois… que faire ? --Archaeodontosaurus (talk) 08:40, 24 January 2020 (UTC)
@Eatcha: Hello, I noticed that you are a but used to deal with BOTs. Our colleague Archaeodontosaurus said above that User:VICbot is not working well since a few days, and the maintener don't seems to be active. Are you able to help? Christian Ferrer(talk) 09:12, 24 January 2020 (UTC)
IDK, if you read this week's tech news, most probably it's due to pywikibot compatibility issue. I don't have access to this tool on project toolforge, but I will try to fix it locally and send a patch to Daniel on GitHub. PS: The source is quite ancient, some dependencies aren't maintained anymore. + I am simultaneously working on 4 bot requests, 3here and one on another wiki. This can take some time. -- Eatcha (talk) 04:16, 25 January 2020 (UTC)
FredD (talk) 23:57, 27 January 2020 (UTC)
Wikidata weekly summary #400
Here's your quick overview of what has been happening around Wikidata over the last week.
Welcome to the 400th Weekly Summary! Here are some interesting Wikidata facts or queries collected by the community and related to the number 400:
The Greek philosopher Hypatia, one of the first women scientists, became head of the Neo-Platonist school at Alexandria, in 400 AD. We include her here in tribute to those working to reduce Wikidata's gender gap.
Duplicate Item copies the current item (without descriptions or sitelinks) to a new item. This tool is useful for splitting items and for making sets of similar items. Recommended for experienced users.
The following files were deleted because I made a mistake when assigning the copyright to them. The library created them and we have no problem making them free. Can you please undelete them?
Hi, no. There are two problems here. Firstly the images deleted are derivative works of several things such as texts, photos, book covers... All the legitimate copyright holders must send a permission to our permission system. Secondly the files must also fall within our project scope, and of course must not be advertizing. Christian Ferrer(talk) 19:24, 27 January 2020 (UTC)
If you have the time or the inclination, please give your thoughts to this DR which I think is a big mess. I can't believe that TechCrunch licensed Getty Images freely and there are 2,704 of them on Commons. If you don't wish to make a reply, that is OK. I ask for opinions of professional Admins in the DR. Best Regards, --Leoboudv (talk) 10:35, 1 February 2020 (UTC)
VizQuery allows you to use the Wikidata Query Service without having to know SPARQL. Simply use a couple of autocomplete input boxes and you can do most basic queries.

Good evening Christian, can you please delete this file? I have nominated it for deletion since there exists a new, updated version of this file (with transparent background) which was uploaded by the same author. The original uploader agreed as well. Thanks in advance, Chem Sim 2001 (disc) 20:33, 8 February 2020 (UTC)
Hello Christian, can you please delete this file. I have uploaded this file today, but it has some SVG errors. I have replaced it with a fully corrected on linked in the deletion request. Can you delete the old one? Thanks in advance, Chem Sim 2001 (disc) 14:36, 16 February 2020 (UTC)
Excellent, thanks a lot for your help! Regards, Chem Sim 2001 (disc) 15:06, 16 February 2020 (UTC)
I have a short concern again: Can you remove/delete the previous version of this file? I have forgotten to add the background color, but that issue was fixed now. Thanks in advance, Chem Sim 2001 (disc) 18:26, 16 February 2020 (UTC)
Thanks a lot for your help! Best regards, Chem Sim 2001 (disc) 18:14, 18 February 2020 (UTC)
Good day Christian, I wanted to ask if you can delete this file? I have nominated it for deletion two days ago, but the case is clear & the original uploader gives consent about that deletion. Thanks in advance, Chem Sim 2001 (disc) 09:29, 19 February 2020 (UTC)
Thanks for your help! Wish you a nice & pleasant day! Chem Sim 2001 (disc) 12:16, 19 February 2020 (UTC)
Hello Christian Ferrer, can you delete this file? I have nominated it for deletion since there is a quality issue (no transparent background) and the original uploader agreed by uploading a corrected version! Chem Sim 2001 (disc) 08:54, 20 February 2020 (UTC)
Thanks, wish you a nice evening! Regards, Chem Sim 2001 (disc) 22:20, 26 February 2020 (UTC)
