Deletion of two of my graphicsEdit

Hello Edgar181, I wanted to ask you if you could delete two of my old and unused chemical graphics. Both have been replaced by other files (cf. deletion requests). Here are the two files: File 1 and File 2. Thanks in advance for your help! 🔸 Best regards, Chem Sim 2001 (talk) 13:26, 27 January 2019 (UTC)

No problem. I have now deleted both. Regards, Ed (Edgar181) 13:32, 27 January 2019 (UTC)

Hello Edgar181, thanks for your help! Here is another graphic, which can be deleted. I replaced it due to some errors in it with a new version (linked in the deletion request). 🔸 Best regards, Chem Sim 2001 (talk) 16:48, 31 January 2019 (UTC)

Hello Edgar181, can you also delete this old graphic of mine? I have replaced it with a newer one! 🔸 Best regards, Chem Sim 2001 (talk) 21:08, 2 February 2019 (UTC)

It looks like DMacks has objected to this deletion. In my opinion, there is no harm in keeping both. Someone may find use for the first representation. Ed (Edgar181) 21:47, 2 February 2019 (UTC)
Hello Edgar181, I withdraw my deletion request of this graphic! Can you clear it? 🔸 Best regards, Chem Sim 2001 (talk) 19:18, 3 February 2019 (UTC)
No problem. I have closed the discussion. Ed (Edgar181) 13:38, 4 February 2019 (UTC)

Hello Edgar181, thanks a lot! Can you visit my deletion request for this graphic any maybe support it if you agree? 🔸 Best regards, Chem Sim 2001 (talk) 18:20, 6 February 2019 (UTC)

Hello Edgar181, thanks for your support with the deletion request of this graphic. Can you delete this old graphic of mine? I already replaced it with a better and more understandable version! Thanks in advance! 🔸 Best regards, Chem Sim 2001 (talk) 19:51, 7 February 2019 (UTC)

Done. Have you considered just uploading your replacements to the same file name (using the "Upload a new version of this file" link on image's page)? This might be an easier option when you are just creating equivalent but higher quality images. Ed (Edgar181) 21:19, 7 February 2019 (UTC)
Hello Edgar181, thanks for your help! Yes, I already know the function to upload a new file version above the old one, but in my cases, I also want to change the too long file name and some other stuff. So, a complete new upload is the method I prefer! 🔸 Best regards, Chem Sim 2001 (talk) 12:12, 8 February 2019 (UTC)

Hello Edgar181, one and a half week ago, I started this deletion request. The normal period of seven days are gone and I wonder, why it is not deleted? Can you take a look at it and maybe support the request? 🔸 Best regards, Chem Sim 2001 (talk) 17:47, 9 February 2019 (UTC)

Seven days is not a mandatory time. Often it takes longer - sometimes much longer - particularly if there is no evident consensus. In this particular case, I don't have a strong opinion one way or the other. Ed (Edgar181) 21:59, 12 February 2019 (UTC)

Hello Edgar181, I have now uploaded a 1:1 replacement of this file. User Leyo also think that it should be deleted now, because there is no disagreement anymore! 🔸 Best regards, Chem Sim 2001 (talk) 15:53, 15 February 2019 (UTC)

Hello Edgar181, I want to withdraw this deletion request. Can you close it for me? 🔸 Best regards, Chem Sim 2001 (talk) 13:41, 20 February 2019 (UTC)

Done. Regards, Ed (Edgar181) 18:21, 20 February 2019 (UTC)

Hello Edgar181, can you also close this deletion request? User DMacks and I agreed on keeping the file since that author has provided a corrected version. Thanks in advance! Best regards, Chem Sim 2001 🧪 20:56, 3 March 2019 (UTC)

Done. Regards, Ed (Edgar181) 21:51, 3 March 2019 (UTC)
Thanks! Best regards, Chem Sim 2001 🧪 21:54, 3 March 2019 (UTC)

Hello Edgar181, can you please delete this file? I have replaced it by a high-quality one with also a much better and more compact file name. Thanks in advance! Chem Sim 2001 (talk) 16:02, 4 April 2019 (UTC)

Done. Regards, Ed (Edgar181) 18:04, 4 April 2019 (UTC)

File:6,6-Difluoronorethisterone acetate.svgEdit

Quick bug...this file is missing the "6,6-difluoro" substituents. DMacks (talk) 15:59, 12 February 2019 (UTC)

How did I not notice that? Thanks for catching the mistake. It's fixed now. Ed (Edgar181) 23:51, 15 February 2019 (UTC)

File:Hymenistatin_I.svgEdit

Hi, could you fix Hymenistatin_I.svg? It is now Ile-Ile-Ile, but it should be Leu-Ile-Ile. In addition, the stereochemistry at the middle Ile side chain should be the opposite. Compare to Hymenistatin V1(farblos).svg or ChemSpider. --Teemu Arppe (talk) 12:22, 27 February 2019 (UTC)

OK, I'll take a look and fix it soon. Ed (Edgar181) 12:58, 27 February 2019 (UTC)
I have updated the file. Thanks for catching the error and letting me know. Can you just check to make sure it looks right to you now? Regards, Ed (Edgar181) 14:27, 27 February 2019 (UTC)

Hello Edgar181, I saw you have closed this deletion request with the reason of deleting it, but you actually forgot to delete it really ;-) . I hope you can fix this issue quickly! Best regards, Chem Sim 2001 (talk) 16:15, 14 March 2019 (UTC)

I'm not sure what happened, but I have deleted it now. Thanks for letting me know. Ed (Edgar181) 16:20, 14 March 2019 (UTC)

Commons:Deletion requests/File:Synthesis Butyl propanoate.svgEdit

Hello Edgar181, can you take a look at this deletion request? It was opened 8 days ago and in my opinion, it can get deleted now! Thanks & best regards, Chem Sim 2001 (talk) 16:08, 31 March 2019 (UTC)

I'm not sure it should be deleted. I left a comment there. Ed (Edgar181) 16:24, 31 March 2019 (UTC)
Hmm ... maybe you are right in this point. I just thought that we don´t need this file anymore since there was a better replacement provided by another user. I think we can keep it, maybe someone wants to use it for a wikipedia, which prefer fully skeletal representation of the molecules. Regards, Chem Sim 2001 (talk) 16:43, 31 March 2019 (UTC)
Can you close my deletion request then? I want to withdraw it. Keeping the file is the best option! Thanks in advance, Chem Sim 2001 (talk) 17:47, 31 March 2019 (UTC)
Looks like DMacks took care of it. Regards, Ed (Edgar181) 13:34, 1 April 2019 (UTC)
Done That´s right. But thanks anyway! Regards, Chem Sim 2001 (talk) 16:41, 1 April 2019 (UTC)

Commons:Deletion requests/File:Omega-process2.pngEdit

Hi Edgar181, I wanted to ask if you can take a look at this deletion request, I had opened 8 days ago? IMHO the file can be deleted now since I had provided a high-quality replacement which is equivalent to this file, but doesn´t have any strange colouring or drawing styles. Thanks in advance! Best regards, Chem Sim 2001 (talk) 14:57, 8 April 2019 (UTC)

Done. Regards, Ed (Edgar181) 16:53, 8 April 2019 (UTC)
Done Thanks a lot! Best regards, Chem Sim 2001 (talk) 17:29, 8 April 2019 (UTC)

Commons:Deletion requests/File:Amezinium metilsulfate-Structural Formula V.1.svgEdit

Hello Edgar181, can you take a look at this deletion request? This one has been unanswered since February this year. I have uploaded a equivalent, high-quality transparent SVG file and linked it in the deletion request! I think, we can now delete the faulty one! Best regards, Chem Sim 2001 (talk) 07:41, 10 April 2019 (UTC)

Done. Regards, Ed (Edgar181) 12:07, 10 April 2019 (UTC)

Commons:Deletion requests/File:Synthese von 1-Ethinyl-1-cyclohexanol.svgEdit

Hello Edgar181, can you delete this chemical reaction? I noticed, that I have made a big mistake while creating it. This reaction is not catalyzed by copper-acetylide, but by conventional bases such as sodium- oder potassiumhydroxide. I have already uploaded a corrected one (linked in the deletion request). Please delete this file! Thanks in advance! Best regards, Chem Sim 2001 (talk) 17:21, 12 April 2019 (UTC)

  Done. Regards, Ed (Edgar181) 19:41, 12 April 2019 (UTC)

Thanks, I think Commons:Deletion requests/File:Degradação d.jpg is also ready for deletion! ;-) Best regards, Chem Sim 2001 (talk) 20:04, 12 April 2019 (UTC)

Commons:Deletion requests/File:Pummerer Rearrangement V2.svgEdit

Hello Edgar181, can you take a look at this deletion request? I think we can delete the file. ;-) Regards, Chem Sim 2001 (talk) 18:15, 22 April 2019 (UTC)

Thanks, I think Commons:Deletion requests/File:ظاهرة المشابهة الجزيئية (التشكل) (الايزوميرزم).jpg and Commons:Deletion requests/File:إيثير ثنائى الميثيل .jpg are also clear cases. Would be great, if you can delete the two files, too. Regards, Chem Sim 2001 (talk) 18:39, 22 April 2019 (UTC)
Leyo has now closed those two discussions. Ed (Edgar181) 13:21, 23 April 2019 (UTC)
Done Ah yes, thanks anyway. Regards, Chem Sim 2001 (talk) 13:30, 23 April 2019 (UTC)

Just asking for helpEdit

Hi Edgar181. Just asking for some help, could you possibly edit the svg source code before uploading the file? The problem is that the server (or whatever you may call it) somehow doesn't accept the id element to start with a number. So my proposed solution is that you move -clipPath1 (from the back of the id) to the front (as clipPath1-). For e.g. id="2145267-clipPath1" -> id="clipPath1-2145267". The same should be done for defs1 too. Do hope that you could help us out as it will be easier for editors that validate svg files on a daily basis. Cheers and have a nice day. 大诺史 (talk) 14:25, 11 June 2019 (UTC)

I've noticed the changes you've made to some of my uploads, but I'm not sure I understand what the problem is. Is there any actual harm that is caused by the id element starting with a number? Is there any noticeable difference for the end user? Ed (Edgar181) 14:44, 11 June 2019 (UTC)
Hi, sorry for the late reply. It seems like the software doesn't allow ids to start with a number. There will also be no difference to the files. 大诺史 (talk) 13:36, 17 June 2019 (UTC)
You can also use this script to check if the code of your svg uploads are valid. 大诺史 (talk) 13:38, 17 June 2019 (UTC)
Which software doesn't allow it? The software I use to generate the files allows it. I'm happy to work with you to address any problems that will affect viewing the files or hinder the end user in some way, but if there is no difference when viewing the files, then why concern ourselves about whether the ids start with numbers? Ed (Edgar181) 13:43, 17 June 2019 (UTC)
I would say mediawiki software (not that sure). As for the second part, although the file shows no difference when viewing, it will reduce the backlog on Category:Invalid SVG. Currently there are about of 1000+ invalid files that have been spotted by editors using the script, while a lot more that aren't verified/validated yet. You can use the script to validate your files after uploading to check and fix any errors from there. 大诺史 (talk) 16:34, 17 June 2019 (UTC)
In that case, the source of the backlog is miscategorizing files that "show no difference when viewing" as invalid. They are not really invalid. If you want to reduce the backlog, the best solution is to not put these files in the category. It doesn't make sense to do the extra work of editing the files when the net result is no visible difference. Ed (Edgar181) 18:11, 17 June 2019 (UTC)
