File:Tonlist statue harpa building.jpg and Icelandic copyright law
I don't understand why several pictures of the Harpa building itself exist on Wikipedia, but the statue outside isn't allowed. Is this a peculiarity of Icelandic copyright law? Are buildings OK but art statues not? Just looking to clarify before I upload more pictures... Jo Dusepo (talk) 09:10, 6 March 2019 (UTC)
- @Jo Dusepo: Photos of buildings in Iceland shouldn't be uploaded to Wikimedia Commons unless the copyright holder has been dead for 70 years per COM:CRT/Iceland. Also, see Commons:Deletion requests/Files in Category:Harpa (concert hall). Files on Commons must be free in the US and the country of origin. Photos of buildings, like en:File:Harpa.JPG, are permitted on the English Wikipedia since there the only requirement is that they be free in the US, which has FoP for buildings but not artwork or sculptures. — JJMC89 02:22, 7 March 2019 (UTC)
- Very interesting. I was not aware. Thanks for clarifying. Jo Dusepo (talk) 09:01, 7 March 2019 (UTC)
BSicon logs
Hi, would you mind running the BSicon log scripts for 18 March? The bot seems to have turned off yesterday. Jc86035 (talk) 09:28, 20 March 2019 (UTC)
- Done I think there were issues with cron on Toolforge when it was supposed to run. — JJMC89 00:11, 21 March 2019 (UTC)
