Argentina, ChileEdit

Hello! What are the sources of the changes of the location maps? NNW 16:21, 17 May 2016 (UTC)

No answer? NNW 10:56, 25 May 2016 (UTC)
NordNordWest Oh Hi, sorry i didn't saw the message because i mainly use the spanish discusion and lack of time, The limits of the maps are based in the limits of the 1998 agreement (Noteː the references are in Spanish, i didn't found any in english, but i can help you translating part of them)[1][2] and the 1994 arbitral tribunal resolution[3][4], this part of the limit it's between Lake O'Higgins/San Martín to Mount Fitz Roy. The limit between Fitz Roy and Mount Murallón is pending to be defined, according to 1998 agreement

Article I, Section B

... From the determinated area between South latitude parallels 49º10'00" and 49º47'30" and the meridians west longitude 73º38'00" and 72º59'00", following coordinate system "Campo Inchauspe 1969", the parts gives to the "Comisión Mixta de Límites Chile-Argentina" (Mix Comision of Border Chile-Argentina) the performance of the lift to jointly prepare the map to scale 1:50.000, following the 1941 Protoco and the conected documents.

Such mapping in the above scale will be an essential to carry out the demarcation on the ground requirement.

The coordinates mentioned above are given in Annex I to this Agreement in the WGS 84 system.

In this sector not apply the Additional Specific Protocol on Shared Water Resources dated August 2, 1991.

(Translated by me, you can check the original one at the second reference)

The limit is pending today to be defined in that part, the coordinates given, makes the "square" that is used in neutral maps, the most of today Argentina maps doesn't have the 1998 limits, because, it seems that they're waiting to all the limit been defined, or, and at the same time, support they claim, meanwhile they use pre 1998 limits and with Argentina Claims of course.[5], meanwhile the most of Chilean maps shows the neutral border with the limit between Mount Murallón to Daudet undefined following the 1998 Agreement, from Lake O'Higgins following 1994 arbitral resolution and the square that is named in the agreement of 1998, that means "Border Pending of a definitive definition".[6][7] The 1998 Agreement was created to end up the dispute of the Southern Patagonian Ice Field.

Then in the maps that i updated in Wikipedia, i have used the 1998 limits that are already defined, and the remain part as disputed, showing the pre 1998 claims (maybe we should use the square, but argentinians woudn't understand it). Also i recomend you to check Google Earth and Maps, there are the 1998 limits are in use, and are neutral because were defined by both countries and the undefined part is showed too. Ask me any doubt, thanks for contacting me. (Noteː at Reference 2, the 1998 Agreement, go to the end of the site, there is the 2 Annex pdf files, there are the coordinates of the border of 1998 explained, so you can use that in future maps)--Janitoalevic (talk) 22:02, 27 May 2016 (UTC)

File:Tierra del Fuego location map.svgEdit

Hello! Again you changed the size of a map, here from 1.535 × 1.550 to 1.638 × 1.653. Every time you do this you destroy the location map templates at least in fr:WP who rely on exact sizes. Please stop this. NNW 11:21, 29 August 2017 (UTC)

NordNordWest Oh, sorry about that, I didn't knew that affected the french wiki, InkScape asked to change the size, and I just accepted. Thanks for letting me know the issue. --  Janitoalevic (talk) 22:59, 29 August 2017 (UTC)

Please change your signatureEdit

Hello Janitoalevic,

I don't know if you still have the same signature but if you do please remove the image File:Sudamérica-Blue.svg from it per the policy on signatures here: Commons:Signatures#Images in signature. If you have already changed your signature please ignore this. If you have any questions about this please let me know. Thanks! --Majora (talk) 22:15, 10 November 2018 (UTC)

Majora Is this rule new? does it apply for English and spanish wikipedia?--Janitoalevic (talk) 15:32, 12 November 2018 (UTC)
It is not a new rule, no. It definitely applies for the English Wikipedia, w:Wikipedia:Signatures#Images. I don't read Spanish so I don't really know if it applies to the Spanish Wikipedia but their page on the matter can be found here: es:Wikipedia:Firma de usuario. --Majora (talk) 19:22, 12 November 2018 (UTC)

Hello Patrick Rogel, these files are uploaded by the Chilean Government to its Press Domain (see this document) that means that its under Creative Commons Atribución 3.0 license since the files were uploaded to a Government's site, and it says that the rights are liberated "ALL RIGHTS RELEASED. ALL CONTENTS CAN BE PLAYED, USED AND DOWNLOADED, WITHOUT CHANGING THEM AND CITING THE SOURCE. PRESS DIRECTOR, PRESIDENCY OF THE REPUBLIC OF CHILE" What is the problem with the files??--Janitoalevic (talk) 19:55, 2 August 2019 (UTC)
Hi. It's explained on the deletion description: these files from the Presidency of Chile (not the government) can't be modified. But Commons images must be modifiable. Please read COM:L. Kind regards, --Patrick Rogel (talk) 20:04, 2 August 2019 (UTC)

MapasEdit
