Historical imageEdit

Hello! Just a question: Why do you think the image File:Vatican City (VA), Petersplatz -- 2013 -- 4196.jpg is a historical image? It is just five years old. --XRay talk 08:00, 9 December 2018 (UTC)

XRay, it was a mistake... Thank you for the correction! José Luiz disc 19:20, 9 December 2018 (UTC)

CopyrightEdit

Just FYI: Taking a picture of a painting does not give you copyright on that painting, unless you include some "panorama", such as the frame and wall, a bit of the museum, people looking at it, etc. And the "author" is the artist. A common mistake, no big deal. WQUlrich (talk) 04:39, 31 July 2019 (UTC)

  • And, unless the painting itself is in the Public Domain, you could still have some problems...it appears (above) that you have. WQUlrich (talk) 04:42, 31 July 2019 (UTC)
@WQUlrich: I think the problem is that, by default, Commons use the template {{Information}} and not {{Artwork}}, that makes the distinction between "author" and "photographer", which, I believe, is the correct way to address that issue. José Luiz disc 16:52, 31 July 2019 (UTC)
Good point. WQUlrich (talk) 03:29, 1 August 2019 (UTC)
