Sup commentsEdit

Hello, if I remember the section (it stuck in my head because I didn't understand what he said at first), you removed the comments here which said : The Netherland are missing on the map. Actually, it's true : vs the correct map : File:France Italy Locator.png. This map is not accurate and should be deleted but I didn't ask for deletion because ... laziness I suppose. - Drongou (talk) 23:48, 17 December 2018 (UTC)

Translation adminsEdit

Is any page there to apply for the adminship? Translation admins' page says nothing on that. --Renessaince (talk) 16:04, 28 December 2018 (UTC)

@Renessaince: Yes, you may apply on COM:BN. Although first I would suggest reading mw:Help:Extension:Translate/Page translation administration and related articles. --jdx Re: 17:33, 28 December 2018 (UTC)

Blocked IPEdit

Hi. Every time I try to edit from my account this message appears:

Your user name or IP address has been blocked.
Editing and uploading from 2607:FB90:0:0:0:0:0:0/32 was disabled by Jdx for the following reason: Vandalism This block (ID #347821) is set to expire: 07:22, 22 March 2019.

Is there anything that can be done to solve this? I've already had problems with global locks from Meta in the same ip range, but those autoblocks expire in one hour. My current IP address and all that I use are in that same range. (I had to lend a connection to do this edition, because with mine, I can't even edit my talk page) Regards --Helmy oved 00:15, 31 December 2018 (UTC)

I have given you IP block exemption because your edits are constructive. Happy New Year! Rodhullandemu (talk) 00:23, 31 December 2018 (UTC)
Thanks Rodhullandemu. Happy New Year to you too. --Helmy oved 00:39, 31 December 2018 (UTC)
@Helmy oved: This range is used by a very prolific vandal. If you look at contributions from this range for the last 6 months, virtually all are vandalisms. More, the range was globally blocked on Meta many, many times, the latest block will expire on 3rd January. AFAIR on enwiki the range is blocked untill mid-April. Anyway, I can see that Rodhullandemu has solved your problem. --jdx Re: 00:47, 31 December 2018 (UTC)

Bielsk Podlaski stationEdit

the slide before

This clearly looks like the same station. As far as i can reconstruct from the other slides (some are of people from my group, so I have to respect portrait rigths), the day was spent travelling from are camping place in the Białowieża forest, (problably close to the Białowieża Grundki train station) to the starting point for the kanoe trip on the Bug river. We certainly stopped in Hajnówka and spend a long time waiting for a bus in Bielsk Podlaski.Smiley.toerist (talk) 11:58, 1 January 2019 (UTC)

@Smiley.toerist: Yep, it is the same station. This photo shows this corner 20 years later. The rails are on the other side of the building. --jdx Re: 12:40, 1 January 2019 (UTC)

File:Havrat Neve Zedek.jpgEdit

Dear Jdx,

I am Yael's assistant, and deal with copyright infringement issues in this image.

Therefore, we need a full name on the page of the image.

There is nothing wrong with the introduction of this name in terms of the policy of the Wikimedia Foundation. And the removal of the name harms copyright infringement proceedings by both the photographer and the Wikimedia Foundation.

Therefore, I ask you to return the edit, or alternatively prevent future deletion of the artist's full name.

Regards, Asaf —Preceding unsigned comment was added by (talk) 09:56, 2 January 2019 (UTC)

Happy New 2019Edit

  Happy New 2019
Pan de jamón and Hallaca are a typical Christmas dish of my country, and I would like to share it with you, wishing you the best year 2019.. I would like to give you this humble recognition. Happy year 2019 dear!!! Photographer 01:44, 3 January 2019 (UTC)

Starting point of kano tripEdit

I have uploaded more images in Category:Smiley Toerist 1991 Poland trip. I can reconstruct that we left Bielsk Podlaski busstation to take a local bus somewhere along the river. Do you know the buslines in 1991 (the busplatform where the tourist are waiting is maybe a clue) or recognize the river images? Wich PKS category can be used?Smiley.toerist (talk) 11:34, 3 January 2019 (UTC)

@Smiley.toerist: Unfortunately, I don't remember bus lines to the south from that time. And I don't think that there has ever been a direct line from Bielsk to a place like Mielnik or Drohiczyn. I guess that from Bielsk you went to Siemiatycze and then took another bus, perhaps to Mielnik (although other places are possible). Perhaps a look at the map could remind you where did you start the canoe trip. --jdx Re: 16:03, 3 January 2019 (UTC)
I am further along with scanning the slides. The location of the bridge is known. This place with two churches must be recognizable.Smiley.toerist (talk) 22:35, 5 January 2019 (UTC)
@Smiley.toerist: The place with two churches is Drohiczyn that I mentioned before. The church in the middle is Drohiczyn Cathedral and the church on the left is All Saints church. The building in front of the cathedral is the registrar's office of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Drohiczyn. Here is the map. Anyway, because you took the photo of the bridge in Fronołów, I bet that you started the trip in Mielnik. --jdx Re: 23:22, 5 January 2019 (UTC)
@Smiley.toerist: A note about Drohiczyn 1991 72.jpg and Drohiczyn 1991 74.jpg – this is not All Saints church but Drohiczyn Cathedral, more formally known as Holy Trinity Cathedral. The yellow building is registrar's office. --jdx Re: 13:32, 10 January 2019 (UTC)

File:Black bicolore Maine Coon with Odd Eyed.jpgEdit

This image belongs to me. I am the breeder of the cattery Devil's Shadow in France, this image is not free of rights, or use. I am also the photographer. I would have the base to delete it but I can not, so I added the name of my cat and the link to my cattery. Please, put the name and link, or delete the photo. Thank you! —Preceding unsigned comment was added by (talk) 09:05, 11 January 2019 (UTC)

Are you User:Uscoon? If yes, then please log in and modify the source field as you like. If you are not, if the photo was uploaded without your knowledge/permission, then fill in formal deletion request as described here and provide some evidence. Anyway, please do not modify source and author fields as an anonymous user because such changes will be just reverted. --jdx Re: 10:50, 11 January 2019 (UTC)

New Request for talk page protectionEdit

Hello there. If it is possible, can you please upgrade my user rights to extended-confirmed, and then apply Extended-Protection to my talk page for 1 year? (Similar to the type of page protection at the Donald Trump article). The ROXELANA22 LTA has returned after the expiration of his Global IP rangeblock, and he's making a mess on my talk page again. Other forms of page protection appear to be ineffective. If this isn't possible, then only blocks + Global locks will be effective against this LTA. Thank you. BlueHypercane761 🌀 (talk) 03:56, 14 January 2019 (UTC)

Can you please also indef block Nimitzsan (talk · contributions · Move log · block log · uploads · Abuse filter logblock user? His talk page access should also be revoked, given his history of abuse. This sock account hasn't been blocked yet. Thanks. (I'm using this account because I don't feel like logging into my Commons account at the moment.) LightandDark2000 (talk) 04:45, 14 January 2019 (UTC)
@BlueHypercane761: Unfortunately, on Commons there is no extended-confirmed user right and related protection level. The vandal has been blocked. I will watch your talk page and semi-protect it when the vandal returns. --jdx Re: 08:27, 14 January 2019 (UTC)
Thanks. BlueHypercane761 🌀 (talk) 17:39, 14 January 2019 (UTC)

Just informing...Edit

Hi, good week! The user Beralbdom (talk · contribs) went back to vandalize after the 3 day block, applied by you, expires. Look here and here. By user contributions, seems a case of vandalism only account. Greetings!--Leon saudanha (talk) 14:40, 14 January 2019 (UTC)

File:Mikeyoungnature.jpg has been listed at Commons:Deletion requests so that the community can discuss whether it should be kept or not. We would appreciate it if you could go to voice your opinion about this at its entry.

If you created this file, please note that the fact that it has been proposed for deletion does not necessarily mean that we do not value your kind contribution. It simply means that one person believes that there is some specific problem with it, such as a copyright issue.

Please remember to respond to and – if appropriate – contradict the arguments supporting deletion. Arguments which focus on the nominator will not affect the result of the nomination. Thank you!

Category:Railway line 542 (Poland)Edit

This is the number I see on my railatlas but I see other railway line numbers wich dont match. The railway line is not in use anymore.Smiley.toerist (talk) 15:38, 16 January 2019 (UTC)

@Smiley.toerist: OK, but what is your question? It seems that line 542 still exists and is in use. This line is łącznica, that is a short line which connects two other lines, 14 and 131 in this case. Till 2008 it was 7 km long, now it is about 3,5 km. --jdx Re: 18:30, 16 January 2019 (UTC)
I am talking of the historic railway line between Ostroleka, Ostrow Mazowiecka, Malkinia, Treblinka en Siedlce. On Google Earth the section between Ostroleka and Malkinia still extist, however the bridge over the Bug river has been replaced by a road and the railway between Malkinia and Kostki has been replaced biy a road and/or broken up. I am using the nummering used in a railway map in 1993. In some countries railway lines are frequently renumbered and reordered, as lines are broken up and lines and connections created. And dont know want the Commons policy is on the nummering of Polish railway lines. Or are only the railway lines in use categorized? It can get confusing when artikels are written over historic lines where sections are broken up. Is there an accepted where the numbers are used? Look at Category:Railway lines in Belgium: A 1932 map is used as reference for the Commons and the Dutch and French articles over railway lines.Smiley.toerist (talk) 20:41, 16 January 2019 (UTC)
@Smiley.toerist: This is line 34. The section between Ostrołęka and Małkinia is still called line 34. The section between Małkinia and Sokołów Podlaski was disassembled in the first decade of the current century (the embankment near the bridge over Bug, i.e. between Małkinia and Kosów Lacki has been used for road 627). The section between Sokołów Podlaski and Siedlce in 2004 was renamed to line 55. BTW. Which Kostki are you talking about? This one, near Sokołów Podlaski? --jdx Re: 22:31, 16 January 2019 (UTC)
Yes, this is as far as the rails go, seen from Google Earth.Smiley.toerist (talk) 23:33, 16 January 2019 (UTC)
