Motd thumbtimeEdit

Hello Lorgut, please only use the thumbtime template to select another frame of the video as preview picture. You can find it by using User:Saibo/thumbtimefinder, then simply copy your preferred thumbtime (below the selected picture) into the template, change the date and save it. Thanks, --Pristurus (talk) 20:55, 17 July 2014 (UTC)

Ver Category:Contributions within wikiArS initiative by course. Me faltan escuelas por añadir, pero ya iré haciendo. Espero que te parezca bien. Saludos. --Dvdgmz (talk) 15:15, 18 July 2014 (UTC)

MOTD descriptionEdit

Hi,

I can't edit it, but the description of the Media of the Day is incorrect:

"The video illustrates the behavior of the the propellers of a helicopter because of the effect soil produced by the wind which hit against the soil."

should be:

"This video illustrates the behavior of the propellers of a helicopter because of the ground effect produced by the wind hitting the ground."

Thanks! The changes are done.

Thanks to both of you!.

File:ICELT Poster.pdfEdit

Wikimedia Commons does not accept fair use content. Fair use laws vary from country to country, and uses that are acceptable under US law, for example, may not be acceptable in many other countries with more restrictive rules.

Also, fair use is only applicable in a few limited contexts. The use of a media file in one context may be considered fair use, while the use of the same file in another context may constitute copyright violation. In particular, fair use does not extend to the collection and distribution of media files in a media database such as Commons. Therefore, Commons cannot legally rely on fair use provisions.

Non-free content that may be used with reference to fair use may be uploaded locally to projects which allow this.

MOTD promotionsEdit

Hi Lorgut. Unfortunately, File:Paso a paso de un nudo As de guía.ogv, which you appear to have promoted to today's MOTD is fundamentally flawed. The knot is incorrect, and stayed up on the main page for almost half the day until I demoted it. I do thank you for your help in a chronically understaffed part of the Commons, but I would ask you to be a little more careful: following the animation with any piece of string would have immediately shown that it was incorrect. Since the blender file is at https://commonsarchive.wmflabs.org/wiki/File:Asdegu%C3%ADa.blend , it might be possible to recreate it correctly, in which case it may indeed deserve promotion. Storkk (talk) 10:18, 20 July 2017 (UTC) Hi Storkk. We will take it into account. The 3D animations are created by students under an expert supervision (I'm not an expert about knots), so I will tell them to review the animation. Thank you. Lorgut (talk) 13:36, 21 July 2017

In the future, please follow the normal procedure and nominate animations at Commons talk:Media of the day, rather than simply promoting them yourself. Storkk (talk) 10:25, 22 July 2017 (UTC)
