Parliament building of BeninEdit
I saw the picture mentionned in the subject on the Benin page as well as Porto-Novo page. And it is written that it is the siege of Benin Parliament. Please, note that this is wrong. The building name in French is Palais des Congrès which can be litteraly translated as Palace of Congress, but its purpose is just to host events like seminars, conference and meeting. Benin Parliament siege is the "Palais des Gouverneurs" in French. And it is located in Porto-Novo, not Cotonou. Since i'm not used to editing wikipedia articles, I think i might let you know so you can correct this.

Photo of inside of Cappella PalatinaEdit
Would it please be possible to have your permission to use your photo of the inside of the Cappella Palatina, specifically the one that shows the upper wall and part of the stalactite ceiling? I am writing a book on Norman Sicily and would really like to use this as the composition is so unusual. Thank you.
The Vernaccia picEdit
Hi, my name is Marco. I just would like to tell that the pic uploaded in the Vernaccia article it is not a Vernaccia from Sardinia, but (as stated on the label on the bottle) is a Vernaccia di San Gimignano. These two wines are quite different. I think the caption should be corrected. Best regards
image on wikipedia entry for margaret cavendishEdit
The image you uploaded on the Margaret Cavendish page in Wikipedia does not represent her. According to her biography, Mad Madge, it is an image of Mary Lucas, her sister. Is it possible to remove it? It is misleading as is. This is the link to the image: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Margaret_Cavendish.jpg

maximale Länge (Zeichenzahl incl. Erweiterung) für Dateinamen auf Wikimedia CommonsEdit
Hallo Magnus Manske,

Simon Fraser of BalnainEdit
Hi Magnus I have written a book on the 1777 battles of Saratoga, which will be published by Oxford University Press next year. Simon Fraser of Balnain was mortally wounded in the second battle (about 3 PM on Oct. 7, 1777) at the moment that the battle and thus the entire American War of Independence reached its tipping point. It is, of course, important for us to include the image you uploaded, the only good one of Fraser. While I understand that credit is not required, I would like to include the credit line "Courtesy of Magnus Manske" or whatever alternative credit line you would prefer. Please contact me at firstname.lastname@example.org so that I am sure that I get this right. Dean Snow —Preceding unsigned comment was added by 126.96.36.199 (talk) 16:26, 03 December 2015 (UTC)

Use of photo in publicationEdit
I’d like to use one of your pictures for a WHO publication that we will publish this fall: https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Mount_Khadam,_Uganda.JPG. We'd like to have your authorisation by email to use this picture and would greatly appreciate it if you could contact me at firstname.lastname@example.org at your earliest convenience. Thank you. —Preceding unsigned comment was added by 188.8.131.52 (talk) 07:41, 19 August 2016 (UTC)
Hi: I would like to use a photo I see your name associated with. I plan to use it in a book called Heads-Up Baseball 2.0. I think I'm free to do so (if I read the rules here correctly) -- please let me know if you would prefer I not use it.

Hallo, Magnus! Wie gehts?
The bot have deleted https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:CRW_DZ_Menzelinsk.jpg I know the guy, who made this photo. But he is not in Wikimedia. How I should place the photo? What to do?
|File:BML-190.png has been listed at Commons:Deletion requests so that the community can discuss whether it should be kept or not. We would appreciate it if you could go to voice your opinion about this at its entry.
If you created this file, please note that the fact that it has been proposed for deletion does not necessarily mean that we do not value your kind contribution. It simply means that one person believes that there is some specific problem with it, such as a copyright issue.
Files from FlickrEdit
Hi. In past your bot transferred some files from flickr, but not the best version in the highest resolution available. See ,, etc. Also, this issue is the cause of some number of undetected-yet duplicated flickr files on Commons (I remember this was mentioned at Village Pump in early 2017). Maybe you know how to detect all these files, to put a bot to mass re-check and re-upload them if there is available a larger version. --XXN, 16:15, 28 July 2017 (UTC)
The picture that is used for "Manhattan (cocktail)" is incorrect. The link is here. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Manhattan_(cocktail) It depicts a cocktail shaker which is NEVER to be used when making a Manhattan. They are always to be stirred and never shaken. In general, whiskey and gin are two spirits that should never be shaken. The actual cocktail in that picture it accurate and you can tell it has been properly stirred as there is no foam and it has a dark amber color to it. Shaken Manhattans are foamy, light in color due to the melted ice dilution, and typically do not taste great. This pic needs to be reshot with a mixing glass and a strainer. —Preceding unsigned comment was added by 184.108.40.206 (talk) 21:08, 29 July 2017 (UTC)
Hi! Now this request has been fixed, and the cawp article has the cropped image. The strange interface at Wikidata hinders me to add it there (is there a simple how-to-do-it nearby?).--Paracel63 (talk) 19:00, 3 August 2017 (UTC)

FYI: INC abusively delete over a thousand images. To prevent delinker from processing these images, Matiia has temporary locked the bot account and bd808 disabled its crontab. --Zhuyifei1999 (talk) 05:57, 11 August 2017 (UTC)
Hi. I think it would be a great improvement for tools like flickr2commons, petscan, and maybe other if they will allow users to do multiple selection via Shift+click [to start/end selection] in the list of items (frequently thousands) shown on result page. For F2C this is especially useful - users might want to exclude directly any potential FOP-problematic images or any other unwanted images. They are frequently consecutive and a multiple selection feature would be very helpful. But F2C has also another problem - working on big sets of images may cause some troubles sometimes; besides the missing multiple selection feature, if from a large set of images many already were transferred to Commons, currently they anyway are shown on result page and this makes it harder to do a good selection work, reviewing better the images which can be transferred.
