Please see my question at the OTRS noticeboard. Maybe you have insight in the 2011 permission - since you use it for licensing of various uploads - and can comment there. --Martin H. (talk) 15:04, 14 April 2013 (UTC)

Uploaded with UploadWizardEdit

Hi, I noticed you are removing the hidden category Uploaded with UploadWizard from certain files. This category is added by the procedure that is used to upload a file. The category is probably used for specific maintenance or statistical purposes. Please, leave the hidden category on those file pages. Thanks. Jan Arkesteijn (talk) 11:28, 28 September 2014 (UTC)

Please, mind the different photo collections of Nationaal ArchiefEdit

Hi, I noticed you reverted a change I made to File:Rinus Terlouw (1951).jpg‎, File:Dina Doron (1964).jpg‎ and File:Jan van Schijndel (1951).jpg, and maybe more. The template Nationaal Archief inserts the category Images from Anefo. But these images are not from Anefo. The template has to be modified. before you can do that. mynewsdesk.comEdit

Hi ManFromNord, could you please provide a link to the licence conditions of mynewsdesk.com? I can't find them and on the single pages images like File:Hyundai i20 WRC 2013-02-28 001.jpg are taken from I only find "Copyright © 2016 mynewsdesk. File:Dakar 2016 Parcours.jpgEdit

Hi, The link with the permission is written in section "Licensing". If you click on the link, you will download de "Dakar Press Regulations", where in page 23 is stated "It is understood that websites must not, under any circumstances, use graphic elements produced by the organisation without the prior written consent of A.S.O., except for the following elements, which are provided copyright-free and that will not be altered: - Rally route map - Press releases - Copyright-free photos provided before and during the rally - Official rally plaque with sponsor (logo of the event)"

According to this, I'll remove the Tag "Permission Missing".Rpo.castro (talk) 14:00, 4 January 2016 (UTC)

As stated above (and in Press Regulations) the route map is copyright-free. The photo credited to Pressesports (the rider used as background to the routemap) isn't even used in the imagem uploaded to wiki.commons.Rpo.castro (talk) 18:25, 4 January 2016 (UTC)

File:Rodney Bewes 1973 screenshot.jpgEdit

You caught me mid-edit in trying to set up this page, Thanks. I made five edits since. This is the first time I have attempted such, and did not know what to expect. Please look at it again to to see if its acceptable. I didn't expect to get knocked out within three minutes when I'm on a learning curve. --BeckenhamBear (talk) 14:07, 22 November 2017 (UTC)

See source: Pictures are property of movie companies owner of the respective movies. --ManFromNord (talk) 14:36, 22 November 2017 (UTC)
I am attempting to use the following Non free guidline for acceptability: "Pictures of deceased persons, in articles about that person, provided that ever obtaining a free close substitute is not reasonably likely". I have put in a fair use rationale to that effect. Can you look at it now, and tell me whether or not it is acceptable and if not what to do? --BeckenhamBear (talk) 15:18, 22 November 2017 (UTC)
@BeckenhamBear: I'm afraid fair use arguments don't work on Commons. Files here must be either free of copyright or copyrighted but freely-licensed. Screenshots of tv programmes are assumed to be copyright by the production company or broadcaster. So we can't host it here. You might do better with a fair use argument on en:WP but even then I doubt it would succeed because (i) it could be replaced with a free image of Rodney Bewes, if one can be found and (ii) it is being used to illustrate Rodney Bewes rather than to provide recognition or critical commentary on "The Likely Lads, or whatever. Sorry. Rodhullandemu (talk) 15:26, 22 November 2017 (UTC)
That was helpful, the penny has dropped for me regarding the crucial differences between here and en:wp. All part of the learning curve. --BeckenhamBear (talk) 12:30, 23 November 2017 (UTC)

CopyrightEdit

Hi I see you have been trying to ruin everything by deleting the files I have been uploading I don’t get it why it is violation of copyright when I gave a source of where the picture was taken and also said it’s not my own picture thanks by the way it is not an rude comment NiaManvi279 (talk) 09:12, 24 May 2018 (UTC)

Can you explain me I don’t understand it

Wikimedia Commons only accepts free content, that is, images and other media files that are not subject to copyright restrictions which would prevent them being used by anyone, anytime, for any purpose. --ManFromNord (talk) 09:22, 24 May 2018 (UTC)

Well this is very disappointing I am upset that I am not feeling welcome here on Wikipedia so I am never going to use this site ever again because I feel you all don’t make me feel welcome it not a rude comment

If I want to upload these pictures again who do I add a copyright sign

— Preceding unsigned comment added by NiaManvi279 (talk • contribs) 09:30, 24 May 2018 (UTC)
  • No! Copyright belongs to the authors of photos. --ManFromNord (talk) 09:33, 24 May 2018 (UTC)

So I can’t upload this pictures again

Oh so the author of the pictures have to give permission first

Yes! See Commons:OTRS. --ManFromNord (talk) 09:48, 24 May 2018 (UTC)

CopyrightEdit

Good day ManFromNord I want to apologise if any copy right infringements were made by me. I will accept this, just want to point out that I am an ethical person and would never knowingly do something illegal. I will study your guides regarding copyright so that this does not happen again.

Regards User:Barry Ne

Good day ManFromNord I have removed all images from the respective article which could possibly be regarded as a violation of any copy right. The images left have all been taken by me, in a public unrestricted place, with my own camera. It is in the public domain. The only other that I used were free available imagines on Wikimedia Commons . This will in future not happen again, and if in doubt I will ask for assistance in evaluating the copyright. File:DRG Header Twitch Format.jpgEdit

Hi ManFromNord

I am the community manager at Ghost Ship Games, the creators of Deep Rock Galactic.

I have been noticed that I have violated our own copyrights, by uploading our own image to Wikipedia commons?

I have tried to upload the image to Wikipedia, where I get to know it must be a Wikipedia commons image, so I followed the guideline. As the guideline now made me fail to upload an image of our own game, I am very confused.

As well I would like to get a guide on how to upload as this interface of Wikipedia is very confusing to me.

Hope you are able to assist me and able to reply to my email: mads@ghostship.dk

Yours Sincerely Mads

Copyrighted, but licensed

Hi ManFromNord,

you have added CopyVio-templates to the files Strepsirrhine infants at Duke Lemur Center.jpg and Propithecus coquereli life stages.jpg, first asking in a bullshittish way for a link, as if the proper citation of the work and licence were not sufficient. I added the link to the online version, and removed your template.

Now you have added your bullshit template again, with the comment line © 2019 Springer Nature Publishing AG. YOU ARE RIGHT, THIS IS COPYRIGHTED MATERIAL!!!!

But, these images have been LICENSED by Springer under CC-BY 4.0:
