Having stumbled across your excellent additions to Category:Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception (Albany, New York)‎, I perused over here and was extremely impressed with your work. Your photos document extraordinary and beautiful cultural items (and this from an agnostic). Keep uploading! upstateNYer 02:53, 13 February 2012 (UTC)

Orestes BrownsonEdit

Hello Nheyob, you uploaded splendid photos from the Basilica of the Sacred Heart (Notre Dame, Indiana)! I am looking for one of the grave of Orestes Brownson, which I am informed to be in the crypt of the basilica. Have you got one? Thank you and greetings from Germany! --Rabanus Flavus (talk) 17:52, 20 November 2014 (UTC)

Rabanus Flavus, Thank you for your kind words and your interest in my work. I've never been to the crypt of the basilica and I don't have any such photograph. I had never heard of Orestes Brownson until today; thank you for introducing him to me. I'll ask about him if I ever make back there. Nheyob (talk) 02:40, 21 November 2014 (UTC)

In that case - may it be in a year or three -, would you please make a short notice on my talk page? Thank you, --Rabanus Flavus (talk) 02:59, 21 November 2014 (UTC)
That sounds like a plan! I will be happy to do it. Nheyob (talk) 14:48, 21 November 2014 (UTC)
Since you seem to be interested in Catholic church buildings all over the world, you might like the en:Land of the Cross-Tipped Churches. In the 1800s, western Ohio and eastern Indiana was heavily settled by German immigrants. In one rural area of Ohio, the Missionaries of the Precious Blood built many Gothic churches on flat landscape. Check it out!
Thanks, I'll look there. - The "plan" is simply reverence for Orestes Brownson. If you read this book of his, you will perhaps understand. Greetings, --Rabanus Flavus (talk) 20:48, 21 November 2014 (UTC)

Detroit cathedralEdit

I just saw your photos of Detroit's cathedral. Well done! Farragutful (talk) 17:31, 2 December 2015 (UTC)

Thanks! I just happened to be in the neighborhood with 30 minutes to spare. I appreciate the encouragement.Nheyob (talk) 13:46, 3 December 2015 (UTC)

Photo requestEdit

Since you travel a bit in Ohio, would you mind helping with en:User:Nyttend/Ohio when possible? Basically, I'm trying to get at least one decent picture for each municipality and township (unincorporated areas only) statewide, and there are almost five hundred locations still left to be illustrated. Anything decently representative of a municipality or township would work: houses or commercial districts, typical countryside, or local landmarks such as parks, monuments, or churches. If you're interested in helping, I'd suggest just looking at the page to see which places along your planned route still need photos. Thanks! Nyttend (talk) 21:13, 18 February 2016 (UTC)

PS, if you look at the page and know of an already-on-Commons picture for a jurisdiction that isn't illustrated, it would definitely be helpful if you added that image. I've added Commons images whenever possible, but I'm sure I've missed a lot of spots. Nyttend (talk) 21:14, 18 February 2016 (UTC)

I can help, but I don't travel in Ohio as much as I used to. Is this what you had in mind? en:Millville, Ohio Nheyob (talk) 01:27, 19 February 2016 (UTC)

Round 2 of Picture of the Year 2015 is open!Edit

You are receiving this message because you voted in R1 of the 2015 Picture of the Year contest.

Dear Nheyob,

Wikimedia Commons is happy to announce that the second round of the 2015 Picture of the Year competition is now open. This year will be the tenth edition of the annual Wikimedia Commons photo competition, which recognizes exceptional contributions by users on Wikimedia Commons. Wikimedia users are invited to vote for their favorite images featured on Commons during the last year (2015) to produce a single Picture of the Year.

Hundreds of images that have been rated Featured Pictures by the international Wikimedia Commons community in the past year were entered in this competition. These images include professional animal and plant shots, breathtaking panoramas and skylines, restorations of historical images, photographs portraying the world's best architecture, impressive human portraits, and so much more.

There are two total rounds of voting. In the first round, you voted for as many images as you liked. In Round 1, there were 1322 candidate images. There are 56 finalists in Round 2, comprised of the top 30 overall as well as the top #1 and #2 from each sub-category. In the final round, you may vote for just one or maximal three image to become the Picture of the Year.

Round 2 will end on 28 May 2016, 23:59:59 UTC.

Saint Catharine of Siena Church (Columbus, Ohio) - baldachin ceiling mural, the Gospels.jpgEdit

Hi! Greetings from Poland :-) Great job but... should you turn it (180o - version number 2 - Mark and Luke)? Thank you. --Wroc Loewe (talk) 11:28, 21 July 2017 (UTC)

Thank you for your interest in my work and for the suggestion! I will keep it how it is, though. I prefer it with Christ at the top. Nheyob (talk) 12:15, 24 July 2017 (UTC)

Our Lady of Good HelpEdit

Hi Nheyob,

Just wanted to make sure you aware of the only Church-approved Marian apparition in the United States. It is Our Lady of Good Help, located just a little Northeast of Green Bay, Wisconsin. It might be a bit too much to travel for you. Also, there is a Marian apparition in your state of Ohio awaiting Church approval called Our Lady of America, located in Fostoria. I think you would enjoy going to these places as well as taking pictures there. God Bless!

Hello. I've heard of the apparitions. I have no plans to travel to Wisconsin and I'm not sure of where I should go in Fostoria that's open to the public. Do you know of a place? Please sign your post. Nheyob (talk) 17:16, 29 March 2019 (UTC)

Wiki Loves Monuments in the United States 2019 – Last day to enter!Edit

Want to show your participation in Wiki Loves Monuments 2019? Add {{User Wiki Loves Monuments 2019}} to your userpage!

September 30th is the last day to upload photos for Wiki Loves Monuments! We're thrilled that the United States has almost reached 4,000 contributions so far this year. Of these images, ~370 (~9%) have already been used to help illustrate Wikipedia articles and pages on other wiki projects, which is fantastic.

If you've already made a photo contribution this year, thanks so much! If you have any last-minute photos of U.S. historical sites to upload and enter into the contest, today's the day to do it. Check out the United States event page for more information. Judging will take place throughout the month of October, after which the top-ten national finalists will be announced in early November.

If you've traveled and taken photos of monuments in non-US countries, you can see if those countries are also participating here.

As always, thank you for participating in Wiki Loves Monuments! If you'd like to respond to this message directly, please do so on on my talk page. ~Kevin Payravi (talk) 05:49, 30 September 2019 (UTC)
