USB-C categoriesEdit

Could you create

Maybe there could also be "USB-C cables", "USB-C devices". 2.247.1.10 14:28, 3 November 2018 (UTC)

We already have lots of categories with technical name Type-C so I created Category:USB Type-C connectors and Category:USB Type-C adapters and I will link Wikidata items.
I informs you that it exist Category:USB Type-C and (this time^^) it contain files only about connectors, so I don't know if Category:USB Type-C connectors is necessary. --Niridya (talk) 22:28, 3 November 2018 (UTC)
Merci beaucoup, tres cool! Could you also make "cables" and put it into category:USB cables and category:USB Type-C? 92.229.96.121 23:30, 3 November 2018 (UTC)
Done Es ist auch fertig ! --Niridya (talk) 23:44, 3 November 2018 (UTC)
Tres bien - Kooperation Franco-Allemand :-). Another: hubs inside category:USB hubs. Example: File:USB C Hub.png . 92.229.96.121 23:48, 3 November 2018 (UTC)
Done by the french! xD --Niridya (talk) 23:55, 3 November 2018 (UTC)
Naming error "USB USB Type-C hubs‎" :-) 92.229.96.121 23:58, 3 November 2018 (UTC) // I could create a new Category:USB Type-C hubs. Didn't know as IP I can do it. 92.229.96.121 00:15, 4 November 2018 (UTC)

┌───────────────────────┘
I created category:USB-C receptacle on smartphones and category:USB-C smartphones. The latter category helped me to find another photo of a USB-C port on a smartphone. 92.229.96.121 03:09, 4 November 2018 (UTC)

"USB-C" is the only name that is OK for most of the languages. Long forms vary, see d:Lexeme:L35201 (tip, tipo, tipus, Typ, typu, 타입) I renamed those category that you created today on my request and left a redirect. My new ones also use "USB-C" Could you rename (move to preserve history, as these are a bit older) the following to "USB-C":

  1. Category:USB Type-C
  2. Category:USB Type-C plugs‎
  3. Category:USB Type-C receptacles‎

? This will make linking from Wikipedias that use the article title "USB-C" easier - no need to specify the name, since in templates the default is the article name. It will also help when one wants to share a link to Commons in email, social network or whereever, because it is shorte. And each time people have to type the category name it will be easier for them, because it is shorter. I looked in twitter https://twitter DOT com/search?q=USB-C&src=typd&lang=en and found a pic from the recent Apple event showing a large "USB-C" [1]. Next year maybe the new iPhone will also have USB-C. (I don't have any Apple product.). But I think it is a good technology and want a first class presentation across all Wikimedia websites. I also worked on en:USB-C yesterday. Still a lot to do. 92.227.231.106 03:50, 4 November 2018 (UTC)

Done for categories renaming. I don't have either Apple products but I will like all devices to have USB Type-C with USB PD technology!
If you have the time, it's good to work on USB-C article. Danke!
On my side I am working on USB Type-C icon.svg to create a receptacle and to harmonize with others pinouts. --Niridya (talk) 13:37, 4 November 2018 (UTC)

Category:USB-C - PNGs for deletionEdit

Category:USB-C contains 5 files, three PNGs should be deleted, SVGs exist and text in general is not wanted in graphics

92.229.96.121 23:37, 3 November 2018 (UTC)

Thanks for these requests. I have changed some links to be more obvious. --Niridya (talk) 13:40, 4 November 2018 (UTC)

ModificationEdit

--Niridya (talk) 11:38, 19 January 2019 (UTC)

Autopatrol givenEdit

Hello. I just wanted to let you know that I have granted autopatrol rights to your account; the reason for this is that I believe you are sufficiently trustworthy and experienced to have your contributions automatically sighted. This will have no effect on your editing, and is simply intended to help users watching Recent changes or Recent uploads to find unproductive edits amidst the productive ones. Thank you.

At this time I have closed your request for patroller as not done since it doesn't appear that you have any history of actually patrolling edits/uploads here. Your edits don't appear to need patrolling though. --Majora (talk) 22:16, 24 February 2019 (UTC)

@Majora:   Thank you. --Niridya (talk) 22:30, 24 February 2019 (UTC)

File:BlankMap-World6.svgEdit

Please retrieve. Because many files based on what now? --Dim Grits (talk) 12:05, 14 March 2019 (UTC)

Hi @Dim Grits:,
I did the rename to remove the 6 that wasn't used for others maps. There is a redirect to the actual file. I had forgotten to ask CommonsDelinker for global replace, that's now done.
--Niridya (talk) 22:09, 14 March 2019 (UTC)
Didn't BlankMap-World.svg exist before?--Dim Grits (talk) 08:59, 20 March 2019 (UTC)
Maybe, I don't remember. If there were another file, it was surely identic (because I can't delete page, I can only rename). --Niridya (talk) 19:02, 20 March 2019 (UTC)
@Dim Grits: I was wrong: there have been a deletion request I started, probably in order to rename, in November 2018 (it's a bit old, that's why I did not remeber). --Niridya (talk) 19:05, 20 March 2019 (UTC)
