Please sign your name on Talk pages by typing ~~~~. To link to an image page without embedding the image, type: [[:File:Foo.jpg]], which produces: File:Foo.jpg. You may enable gadgets (custom features) for your account. There are several tools to upload files. Have you edited Wikipedia before? This guide might be useful. Made a mistake? Do you want to have a file renamed or moved? Use the move link and wait for an authorized user to rename it. Do you want to have your recently uploaded picture removed? Tag it as {{speedy|reason here}}. For more information read the deletion guidelines.

Tip: Add categories to your files

Thanks a lot for contributing to the Wikimedia Commons! Here's a tip to make your uploads more useful: Why not add some categories to describe them? This will help more people to find and use them.

Here's how:

1) If you're using the UploadWizard, you can add categories to each file when you describe it. Just click "more options" for the file and add the categories which make sense:

2) You can also pick the file from your list of uploads, edit the file description page, and manually add the category code at the end of the page.

[[Category:Category name]]

For example, if you are uploading a diagram showing the orbits of comets, you add the following code:

[[Category:Astronomical diagrams]]

[[Category:Comets]]

This will make the diagram show up in the categories "Astronomical diagrams" and "Comets".

When picking categories, try to choose a specific category ("Astronomical diagrams") over a generic one ("Illustrations").

Hallo Ies, Du hast natürlich Recht. Das Bild stammt aus einer privaten Villa im Süden der Insel in der Nähe des Hotels Calimera. Vielleicht paßt es auch gar nicht zur Kategorie? Ich habe leider nichts Besseres gefunden. -- Peter A. Mansfeld 06:56, 27 June 2011 (UTC)

Meinst Du den CLUB CALIMERA Royal Monica Playa Blanca, an der Avenida Maritima (Uferpromenade, aber ziemlich westlich, relativ nahe am Leuchtturm) in Playa Blanca, Gemeinde Yaiza? Ich frage, weil ich rund 3600 Bilder von Lanzarote mitgebracht habe, die ich ab KW 41 hochladen werden. Wenn ich die kategorisiere, möchte ich dazu auch Dein Bild richtig einordnen können. Genau diese Gegend war das!! Natürlich habe ich auch eine Menge Kakteenbilder gemacht, die Du unter: Meine Kakteenbilder sehen kannst. Ein Teil davon ist vom "Jardin de Cactus". Wenn Du eine Category aufmachst, dann ändere einfach mein (File:Kopsprung.jpg - BILD). Ich werde dann, wenn Du willst, auch Kakteenaufnahmen der Lanzarote-Category zuordnen. Peter A. Schöne Bilder! Zum Jardin de Cactus habe ich schon mal Category:Jardin de Cactus eingerichtet und hier vorgefundene (zusammengesuchte) Bilder aus dem Garten gesammelt. Kategorisiere Deine entsprechenden Bilder bitte auch schon mal dort hinein. Als ich letzten März im Jardin de Cactus war, habe ich mich natürlich vorwiegend auf die Euphorbien gestürzt. Nach vier Stunden wilden Herumknipsens wurde meine ansonsten recht geduldige Frau dann aber doch etwas unruhig und ich habe abgebrochen.

Auf Deiner Webseite habe ich übrigens einen kleinen Fehler gefunden. Das echte (mit altem Namen) Synadenium grantii Hook.f. ist nicht in Kultur und davon gibt es auch keine rote Form. Die Pflanze, die unter dem Namen Synadenium grantii im Handel ist, ist tatsächlich (mit altem Namen) Synadenium compactum N.E.Br. Diese Art heißt jetzt Euphorbia bicompacta Bruyns. Die Arten lassen sich am besten durch die Kielung der Blätter unterscheiden. Synadenium compactum / Euphorbia bicompacta hat scharf gekielte Blätter, die Kiele der Blätter von Synadenium grantii / Euphorbia umbellata sind dagegen gerundet und nicht sonderlich erhaben - fehlen aber leider zum direkten Vergleich. -- Ies (talk) 18:59, 28 June 2011 (UTC)

Hallo Peter, hier bist Du auf eine falsche Beschilderung hereingefallen. Ich weiß, dass ein Schild mit „Euphorbia knuthii“ an dieser Pflanze steht. Tatsächlich ist das aber Euphorbia uhligiana. Umkategorisiert habe ich das Bild schon. -- Ies (talk) 16:05, 5 July 2011 (UTC)

Hallo Ies, Du bist der Fachmann für Euphorbia. Danke für den Hinweis und das Umkategorisieren. Ich hätte es nicht gemerkt. Die sogenannten Kleinbleibenden-Euphorbias (was vermutlich auch nicht stimmt) werden oft verkannt; auch weil die Blüten sehr bescheiden sind. Ich hatte vor Jahren mal eine größere Menge aus NL bekommen. Leider sind davon nur noch einige Dias übrig. Vielleicht digitalisiere ich mal was, sollte hier ein Bedarf entstehen? Gruß Peter A. Noch etwas. Ich muss irgendwie blind gewesen sein, dass mir das nicht früher aufgefallen ist: Diese Pflanze (File:Synadenium grantii 1.jpg, File:Synadenium grantii Blatt.jpg, File:Synadenium grantii Blüte.jpg) ist gar keine Euphorbia (kein Synadenium), sondern Plumeria rubra! -- Ies (talk) 16:07, 7 July 2011 (UTC)

Here you made a change in the category without making a corresponding change in the description. Also, if your change is correct, then the conservatory has the plant mislabeled. Hi, Mammillaria nagliana (see here) is a synonym of Mammillaria karwinskiana subsp. collinsii hence the change is correct. source: Edward F. Hallo PeterMansfeld, ich habe gerade Ihr zuvor fehlbestimmtes, links oben gezeigtes Bild File:Erysimum raulinii pm.jpg zum Nickenden Sauerklee (Oxalis pes-caprae) geschoben. Die Gattung Erysimum gehört zu den Kreuzblütlern und hat 4 Blütenblätter pro Blüte. Oxalis pes-caprae hat fünfzählige Blüten. Natürlich muss das Bild auch noch umbenannt werden.
