Code issues in User:Prahlad balaji/common.jsEdit

Hi Prahlad balaji, I am a bored bot (this is kind of a computer program) that is watching the recent changes and tapping buttons like I did now.

Curious about the reason? Possibly not but I will tell you anyway:

  1. You edited User:Prahlad balaji/common.js. Glad to see you coding in javascript! Have you ever considered becoming a MediaWiki hacker?
  2. Though, that change appears to introduce 11 new jshint issues — the page's status is now having ERRORS. Note that invalid or ambiguous code often has unwanted side effects like breaking other tools for you. If you cannot find out how to fix it, I suggest blanking the page for now.
  3. To help you understanding where the issues are, I have aggregated a report here and now. If you have questions, don't hesitate to ask users experienced in javascript writing for help. But do not ask the bot's operators (chronically overwrought) unless you suspect an error of mine. If you prefer not getting spammed by me, you can opt-out reports by adding {{ValidationOptOut|type=all}} to your user page or cmb-opt-out anywhere on your your global user page on Meta. Good luck at Wikimedia Commons and happy hacking!

File:IOS1.pngEdit

Wikimedia Commons does not accept derivative works of non-free works such as File:IOS1.png. It only accepts free content, which is images and other media files that can be used by anyone, for any purpose. Reproductions of copyrighted works are also subject to the same copyright, and therefore this file must unfortunately be considered non-free. For more information, please read Commons:Derivative works and Commons:Freedom of panorama. You can ask questions about Commons policies in Commons:Help desk. The file you added has been deleted. If you believe that this file was not a derivative work of a non-free work, you may request undeletion.

Thanks for uploading File:IOS3.png. This media is missing permission information. A source is given, but there is no proof that the author or copyright holder agreed to license the file under the given license. Please provide a link to an appropriate webpage with license information, or send an email with copy of a written permission to OTRS (permissions-commons@wikimedia.org). This also applies if you are the author yourself. After you emailed permission, you may replace the {{No permission since}} tag with {{subst:OP}} on file description page.

Please see this page for more information on how to confirm permission, and Commons:Permission if you would like to understand why we ask for permission when uploading work that is not your own.

The file probably has been deleted. If you sent a permission, try to send it again after 14 days. Do not re-upload. When the OTRS-member processes your mail, the file can be undeleted. Additionally you can request undeletion here, providing a link to the File-page on Commons where it was uploaded ([[:File:IOS3.png]]) and the above demanded information in your request.

editTokenEdit

Hello Prahlad balaji. I just wanted to let you know that editToken is deprecated, and you still use it in one or more of your userspace scripts. If you want your user script(s) to work properly, please replace editToken with csrfToken in source code of the scripts. You'll need to change the following script(s):

File:IOS2.png has been marked as a possible copyright violation. Wikimedia Commons only accepts free content—that is, images and other media files that can be used by anyone, for any purpose. Traditional copyright law does not grant these freedoms, and unless noted otherwise, everything you find on the web is copyrighted and not permitted here. For details on what is acceptable, please read Commons:Licensing. You may also find Commons:Copyright rules useful, or you can ask questions about Commons policies at the Commons:Help desk.

The file you added has been deleted. If you believe that the deletion was not in accordance with policy, you may request undeletion.

This media may be deleted.
Thanks for uploading File:Iphone9preview.jpg. I notice that the file page either doesn't contain enough information about the license or it contains contradictory information about the license, so the copyright status is unclear.

If you created this file yourself, then you must provide a valid copyright tag. For example, you can tag it with {{self|GFDL|cc-by-sa-all}} to release it under the multi-license GFDL plus Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike All-version license or you can tag it with {{PD-self}} to release it into the public domain. (See Commons:Copyright tags for the full list of license tags that you can use.)

If you did not create the file yourself or if it is a derivative of another work that is possibly subject to copyright protection, then you must specify where you found it (e.g. usually a link to the web page where you got it), you must provide proof that it has a license that is acceptable for Commons (e.g. usually a link to the terms of use for content from that page), and you must add an appropriate license tag. If you did not create the file yourself and the specific source and license information is not available on the web, you must obtain permission through the OTRS system and follow the procedure described there.

Note that any unsourced or improperly licensed files will be deleted one week after they have been marked as lacking proper information, as described in criteria for deletion. If you have uploaded other files, please confirm that you have provided the proper information for those files, too. If you have any questions about licenses please ask at Commons:Village pump/Copyright or see our help pages. Thank you.

Source of derivative work is not properly indicated: File:RFCU2.pngEdit

This file may be deleted.
A file that you have uploaded to Wikimedia Commons, File:RFCU2.png, is a derivative work, containing an "image within an image". Examples of such works would include a photograph of a sculpture, a scan of a magazine cover, or a map that has been altered from the original. In each of these cases, the rights of the creator of the original must be considered, as well as those of the creator of the derivative work.

While the description page states who made this derivative work, it currently doesn't specify who created the original work, so the overall copyright status is unclear. If you did not create the original work depicted in this image, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright.

Please edit the file description and add the missing information, or the file may be deleted. If you created the original content yourself, enter this information as the source. If someone else created the content, the source should be the address to the web page where you found it, the name and ISBN of the book you scanned it from, or similar. You should also name the author, provide verifiable information to show that the content is in the public domain or has been published under a free license by its author, and add an appropriate template identifying the public domain or licensing status, if you have not already done so. Please add the required information for this and other files you have uploaded before adding more files. If you need assistance, please ask at the help desk. Thank you!

Hi JuTa, what "image within an image" is there? Prahlad balaji (talk) 14:33, 1 August 2020 (UTC)
Its a screenshot of some software, which is like copyrighted. --JuTa 14:38, 1 August 2020 (UTC)
Hi JuTa, you may delete it as I don't need it anymore (it was for an RFCU on simplewiki). Please also see File:RFCU1.png, File:RFCU3.png, File:RFCU4.png, File:RFCU5.png, and File:RFCU6.png. Thanks, Prahlad balaji (talk) 14:42, 1 August 2020 (UTC)

@1234qwer1234qwer4: I took that photo. It's my own work. How is it copyright?? --Prahlad (talk to me / what I've done) 22:20, 21 August 2020 (UTC)
See, for example, Commons:Derivative works#Text. Even Commons:Licensing lists "Scans or reproductive photographs of copyrighted artwork, especially book covers, album/CD covers, etc." under "the following are generally not allowed". 1234qwer1234qwer4 (talk) 22:26, 21 August 2020 (UTC)
@1234qwer1234qwer4: Two things. First of all, what is allowed, and second please tell somebody to delete it quickly. Thanks, --Prahlad (talk to me / what I've done) 22:35, 21 August 2020 (UTC)
File:Derivative Works Decision Tree.svg should give a nice overview. 1234qwer1234qwer4 (talk) 22:44, 21 August 2020 (UTC)
@1234qwer1234qwer4: but it says nothing about books. Prahlad (talk to me / what I've done) 22:46, 21 August 2020 (UTC)
The same criteria apply: If the work is too old to be protected by copyright or trivial (which should rarely apply to full pages, however), you can upload it without having special permissions from the author; otherwise, uploading it is a copyright violation. In your case, the text was a non-trivial recent work and not published under a free license, so it is not accepted on Commons. 1234qwer1234qwer4 (talk) 22:53, 21 August 2020 (UTC)
