Please sign your name on Talk pages by typing ~~~~. To link to an image page without embedding the image, type: [[:File:Foo.jpg]], which produces: File:Foo.jpg. You may enable gadgets (custom features) for your account. There are several tools to upload files. Have you edited Wikipedia before? This guide might be useful. Made a mistake? Do you want to have a file renamed or moved? Use the move link and wait for an authorized user to rename it. Do you want to have your recently uploaded picture removed? Tag it as {{speedy|reason here}}. For more information read the deletion guidelines.

There seems to be a problem regarding the description and/or licensing of this particular file. It has been found that you've added in the image's description only a Template that's not a license and although it provides useful information about the image, it's not a valid license. Could you please resolve this problem, adding the license in the image linked above? You can edit the description page and change the text. Uploading a new version of the file does not change the description of the file. This page may give you more hints on which license to choose. Thank you.

Hi, thanks for uploading this image, if it's ok I drew a simplified version of the same thing in SVG (SVG was requested). I don't think there is much value in showing the projections of the components throughout the cubic array... what it the importance of the projections? The 3d illustration is enough to show the positions. Also, I didn't label the numbers, just drew arrows, the reader should be able to see which components can be labelled as which. Please use colors that work with red-green color vision deficiency. Clear and strong contrast trumps all, and it's more important to focus on screens with intensive and bright colors, that those semi dark ones, that are optimized for presentations. It bothered me that this image only showed the decay chains for Nickel-56 and Oxygen-15, when a few other nuclides in the diagram were also quite unstable, so I added the decay chains for Iron-52, Chromium-48, and Titanium-44, which fit nicely into an empty space in the diagram. Rather than recreating it from scratch, I tried to keep it very close to the original in look by editing pixel by pixel with KolourPaint and doing a lot of copying and pasting. I also corrected a few tiny obvious irregularities. However, I couldn't find exactly the same font as you used, and that is slightly noticeable, so you might want to correct that if you think it's important, since you're the one who's most likely to know what the original font was.

Also, I did not add the decay chains for Tritium and Beryllium-8, and I ignored the issue of excited states with the decay of Iron-52 into Manganese-52, since actually Iron-52 decays into Manganese-52m, and Iron-52m decays into Manganese-52, and the excited states both decay with short half-lives into the ground states of their respective elements, and it all seemed unnecessarily confusing and unimportant to try and fit into the diagram.

PS: As a probably unnecessary side-note, I can somewhat read and write German. Also, I'm sort of new to Wikipedia and I'm not sure if I've broke any kind of rule by editing the picture.DubleH (talk) 06:41, 15 October 2020 (UTC)

I just realized that there is no tritium in the diagram. That's helium-3. That's one of two mistakes I made in the comment for when I edited the picture. So now Beryllium-8 is the only unstable "nuclide" in the diagram whose decay path is not shown. (I.e. it is still not marked that Beryllium-8 almost instantly splits into 2 alpha particles if not hit by another alpha particle.)DubleH (talk) 06:50, 15 October 2020 (UTC)

Thanks. Lot of work! :-) The fonts I use are mostly the commonly available Arial and Courier New. And of course, if one looks deeper in that issue, there is a lot of other fusion and decay reactions, which, if you tried to include them all, would finally leave a complete confusion at the reader's site. So I found it important to focus on the essential, i.e. upbuilding reactions, where e.g. Beryllium-8 is just an intermediate in 3-alpha process, while decays not leading to something up the ladder were ignored. And as far as it concerns Wikimedia rules, as long as you don't claim to be the initial author, but only edited something already existing, it's ok. However, if this led to something very different from the original, where the already existing picture only acted as "building material", this would be a "derivative work" with somewhat different "rulesof the game". Wikimedia Commons is happy to announce that the 2022 Picture of the Year competition is now open. This year will be the seventeenth edition of the annual Wikimedia Commons photo competition, which recognizes exceptional contributions by users on Wikimedia Commons. Wikimedia users are invited to vote for their favorite images featured on Commons during the last year (2022) to produce a single Picture of the Year.

Hundreds of images that have been rated Featured Pictures by the international Wikimedia Commons community in the past year are all entered in this competition. These images include professional animal and plant shots, breathtaking panoramas and skylines, restorations of historical images, photographs portraying the world's best architecture, impressive human portraits, and so much more.

For your convenience, we have sorted the images into topical categories. Two rounds of voting will be held: In the first round, you may vote for as many images as you like. The top 30 overall and the two most popular images in each category will continue to the final. In the final round, you may vote for just three images to become the Picture of the Year.

Round 1 will end on 1 May 2023, 23:59:59 UTC.
