--Red Winged Duck (talk) 10:47, 24 March 2015 (UTC)Reply

--Лобачев Владимир (talk) 22:53, 4 May 2015 (UTC)Reply
Please, see the discussion. There was no sound arguments for obsolete transliteration. Moreover, there is a consensus between users of both Belarusian projects. None of the categories named according to current official transliteration have been renamed so far. --Kazimier Lachnovič (talk) 13:46, 5 May 2015 (UTC)Reply
You need not just to find consensus between five actuive users on Belarussian Wikipedias, but a wide consensus of the Commons community, and you guys are not even close.--Ymblanter (talk) 14:03, 5 May 2015 (UTC)Reply
I am rolling everything back. Please next time discuss before moving.--Ymblanter (talk) 09:38, 5 May 2015 (UTC)Reply

Homieĺ edit

Commons:Naming categories:

  • Category names should generally be in English (see Commons:Language policy).
  • Place names widespread in English form are used so (usually countries, capitals, continents, oceans and seas, biggest mountains and mountain ranges and other most known places). Place names of local relevancy (smaller cities, towns, villages, streets, squares, natural features) are generally not translated.
  • Generally, if the English form of the name is commonly used in English-language texts as stand-alone (not together with the local name as its explanation) and is usually used in English-language maps, it should be used also as the category name.

So you have provide Gomel/Homieĺ is a smaller city with local relevancy and it has no widespread English name.

Google Books finds 3 books in English with 'Homieĺ' and 169,000 English books with 'Gomel'. Bogomolov.PL (talk) 18:31, 14 December 2016 (UTC)Reply

I blocked the user for a day, since they were previously warned.--Ymblanter (talk) 20:05, 14 December 2016 (UTC)Reply
@Bogomolov.PL and Ymblanter: Red Winged Duck has proceeded with renaming into "Homieĺ": Category:Nature of Homieĺ, Category:Evening in Homieĺ, Category:Culture of Homieĺ.. .--دونالد ترامب (talk) 17:49, 6 February 2017 (UTC)Reply
No, these moves were before the warning in december.--Ymblanter (talk) 20:16, 6 February 2017 (UTC)Reply
