User talk:Remember the dot/Archive/2008
Congratulations, Dear Administrator!
editRemember the dot, congratulations! You now have the rights of administrator on Commons. Please take a moment to read the Commons:Administrators page and watchlist related pages (in particular Commons:Administrators' noticeboard and Commons:Deletion requests), before launching yourself into page deletions, page protections, account blockings or modifications of protected pages. The majority of the actions of administrators can be reversed by the other admins, except for history merges which must thus be treated with particular care.
Please feel free to join us on IRC: #wikimedia-commons @ irc.freenode.net. You may find Commons:Guide to adminship to be useful reading.
Please also check or add your entry to the List of administrators and the related lists by language and date it references....
Congratulations! Could you please update Commons:List of administrators by adminship status in other Wikimedia projects with eventual status you may have in other wikis? Regards, and happy editing! Patrícia msg 00:13, 6 April 2008 (UTC)

Re: [1] What "accessibility problems" do ² ³ ½ cause? We use Unicode elsewhere, too, so why not these three characters? Lupo 06:36, 30 May 2008 (UTC)

editA warning! :( Anyway, should the old image now be deleted? Enigmaman (talk) 15:52, 4 July 2008 (UTC)
- Yes, but I sent it through the deletion discussion process anyway just to be sure it's OK. —Remember the dot (talk) 18:40, 5 July 2008 (UTC)
Wow
editI have a bunch more. There should be a way to just rename an image. Would be much easier. If you look at that page, a lot of the image titles are misspelled. Enigmaman (talk) 20:07, 4 July 2008 (UTC)
- There should be a way to move images like we move pages. Images should also not be bound to a specific format - instead, the extension should be stripped off and the image type stored as metadata. This would allow uploading of a PNG over a GIF, or an SVG over a PNG, without having to recopy all the source information onto a new image page. —Remember the dot (talk) 18:40, 5 July 2008 (UTC)
- Wishful thinking, I suppose. Anyway, I uploaded an image here from Wikipedia. I'm so proud. Enigmaman (talk) 05:30, 29 July 2008 (UTC)
