Fødselsdagshilsen fra Danmark

Fødselsdagskage

Gaver

Chokolade

Kor
I dag er det Ingeborgs fødselsdag
Hurra hurra hurra
Hun sikrer sig en gave får
Som hun har ønsket sig i år
Med dejlig chokolade og kager til
...
Til slut vi råber højt i kor:
HURRA! HURRA! HURRAAAH!
Gid Ingeborg længe leve må!
Og sine ønsker opfyldt få!
Med dejlig chokolade og kager til!

I never had such a nice birthday morning! Thank you so much for the wonderful poem and all the presents! The chocolate milk was delicious, the cake a dream and the choir sang the Danish birthday poem: Hurra hurra hurra! so loudly so that the neighbours came to see what the reason was. (I still couldn't translate everything, but I'll try, and I know many new Danish words now!) All the very best, Ingeborg the birthday queen --Schnobby (talk) 08:17, 18 March 2010 (UTC)
Dear birthday queen. Only happy, I could assist in giving you a nice morning! It has grown into a traditional Danish birthday song, it came up in the seventies when I was a kid. To give you an impression of the melody and the typical setup where it is used (birthday dinners) I found this probably fairly representative clip on youtube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h2z8Im_fS88 There they sing three verses. There are actually several more verses in the full text. Have a continued nice day! --Slaunger (talk) 08:52, 18 March 2010 (UTC)
Incredible - the song too! My husband and me just listened to the Danish singers with their flag. Three cheers for Kim and the Internet! Ingeborg Schnobby (talk) 09:06, 18 March 2010 (UTC)
