RevertsEdit

Hello, This revert is not OK. There is no consensus for changing the style. Please serlf revert. Please note that you have to discuss it first before revert-warring. Needless to say that you are not a member of the committee. --Steinsplitter (talk) 16:03, 12 April 2019 (UTC)

Okay, thanks, will do. (further discussion here) // sikander { talk } 🦖 16:13, 12 April 2019 (UTC)

Julie Payette photoEdit

Hello Sikander

Thank you for your message, and thank you for taking care of copyvios on Commons, we need help on that point! Payette's picture is not a copyvio, you have my word on this.

Maybe you haven't saw the talkpage? Do you think we need to go for an OTRS process ?

Let me know if you need more infos. Best regards, Benoit Rochon (talk) 00:59, 17 April 2019 (UTC)

@Benoit Rochon: Oops, my mistake in not checking the Talk page for the photo. Julie Payette's official photo has been uploaded here previously without permission and I assumed this was the same. Perhaps we can add {{kept}} on the photo page as well? Thank you. // sikander { talk } 🦖 11:48, 17 April 2019 (UTC)

File:Rex Tillerson with Theresa May in London - 2018 (28060725579).jpgEdit

File:Rex Tillerson with Theresa May in London - 2018 (28060725579).jpg has been listed at Commons:Deletion requests so that the community can discuss whether it should be kept or not. We would appreciate it if you could go to voice your opinion about this at its entry.

If you created this file, please note that the fact that it has been proposed for deletion does not necessarily mean that we do not value your kind contribution. It simply means that one person believes that there is some specific problem with it, such as a copyright issue.

Please remember to respond to and – if appropriate – contradict the arguments supporting deletion. Arguments which focus on the nominator will not affect the result of the nomination. Thank you!

Thanks for uploading File:Imran Khan at the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation summit in 2019 (portrait cropped).jpg. I notice that the file page either doesn't contain enough information about the license or it contains contradictory information about the license, so the copyright status is unclear.

If you created this file yourself, then you must provide a valid copyright tag. For example, you can tag it with {{self|GFDL|cc-by-sa-all}} to release it under the multi-license GFDL plus Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike All-version license or you can tag it with {{PD-self}} to release it into the public domain. (See Commons:Copyright tags for the full list of license tags that you can use.)

If you did not create the file yourself or if it is a derivative of another work that is possibly subject to copyright protection, then you must specify where you found it (e.g. usually a link to the web page where you got it), you must provide proof that it has a license that is acceptable for Commons (e.g. usually a link to the terms of use for content from that page), and you must add an appropriate license tag. If you did not create the file yourself and the specific source and license information is not available on the web, you must obtain permission through the OTRS system and follow the procedure described there.

Note that any unsourced or improperly licensed files will be deleted one week after they have been marked as lacking proper information, as described in criteria for deletion. If you have uploaded other files, please confirm that you have provided the proper information for those files, too. If you have any questions about licenses please ask at Commons:Village pump/Copyright or see our help pages. Thank you.

Yours sincerely, Magog the Ogre (talk) (contribs) 23:12, 16 June 2019 (UTC)

Hi Magog the Ogre, the footer for kremlin.ru says "All content on this site is licensed under Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International" and these photos are from this page. There are 19,154 photos from kremlin.ru on Commons using {{kremlin.ru}} as the license. Am I missing something? // sikander { talk } 🦖 23:41, 16 June 2019 (UTC)
Kremlin.ru is a source tag only because the Kremlin changed its license. Please add the cc-by-4.0 tag to those images as well so that they have a license tag as well. Magog the Ogre (talk) (contribs) 00:08, 17 June 2019 (UTC)
@Magog the Ogre: Ah ok, done. Thanks for pointing it out. // sikander { talk } 🦖 03:57, 17 June 2019 (UTC)

EmailEdit

Hi Sikander. I believe you recently sent me an email. Unfortunately, I cannot currently access that account and was soon going to update my Wikimedia accounts with a new email address. In the meantime, you can leave a message on my talk page.

I can see only the first line (and a bit of the next one) of your email, which shows up on my Commons alerts. I generally prefer discussions in the open on Wikimedia projects (ie - user talk pages), but if you'd prefer to keep the details private, I'll let you know when I've set up the new email address. Canada photographsEdit

Hi, thank you for categorizing and organizing photo uploads by location. Wondering what your process is. Are you creating the yyyy-mm-dd category manually or do you have a script that takes care of it?

I can start categorizing my uploads myself but thought the process of creating a new category for a few images only might not be worth the time/effort: 20190931 has 2 photos, 20190906 has 4, 20190910 has 3 (and all are my uploads).

// sikander { talk } 🦖 12:10, 12 September 2019 (UTC)

Hi Sikander, I use the template Date= Taken on|2019-09-12|location=Canada, with braces ({{) at either end, and alter the date accordingly and then create the Day/date/country category using, Canada photographs taken on navbox|2019|09|12, with braces ({{) at either end, and once again altering the date accordingly. Hope this is of Help. Kolforn (talk) 13:12, 12 September 2019 (UTC)
@Kolforn: Ah OK, so it is a 2 step process. I wondered if the {{Taken on|2019-09-12|location=Canada}} automatically created the category (which would've been nice) // sikander { talk } 🦖 13:38, 12 September 2019 (UTC)
@sikander: Yes that template creates the Canada day/date but it will be in red until you include it in photographs taken on day/date taken category using {{Canada photographs taken on navbox|2019|09|10}}

Wiki Loves Monuments France 2019Edit

Bonjour,

@Sarah Krichen WMFr, @VIGNERON: Thank you, but I am in Canada 🍁 // sikander { talk } 🦖 14:53, 12 September 2019 (UTC)
Sorry, we contacted you because our tool said you took photo for Wiki Loves Monuments 2012 in France but clearly it's a mistake (I guess the tool confused uploader and editor, I'll look into it). Anyway, you can still take part in Commons:Wiki Loves Monuments 2019 in Canada or any other Participating countries   Cheers, VIGNERON (talk) 15:14, 12 September 2019 (UTC)
No problem at all, and yes, planning on taking some photos this weekend. Cheers! // sikander { talk } 🦖 15:39, 12 September 2019 (UTC)
It took me a while but I found the file who created this error: File:Louvre museum's inverted pyramid (cropped).jpg (you are indeed the creator but you just cropped an other file from WLM2012 in France and left the template, I removed the template so the error should not appears again). Cheers, VIGNERON (talk) 16:14, 12 September 2019 (UTC)
