-- Viele Grüße, Johanna Strodt (WMDE) (talk) 10:47, 12 July 2018 (UTC)

Moving filesEdit

(Cf. Special:Diff/339194471/339195047)

At Commons:Village pump#Moving files to wikipedia, I presume you are agreeing with me, rather than disagreeing, but given the wording I'm not sure. I told the user that that can't be done with a tool, and that he needs to download to his computer and upload manually. You then said, "No, it’s not possible." I presume that was a grammatically non-parallel answer to his original question as to whether anyone knows a tool to do this, rather than a statement that the manual approach I suggested is not possible. Have I understood correctly, or are you saying that there would be something wrong with doing this manually? - Jmabel ! talk 00:39, 16 February 2019 (UTC)

Joe You are right with your presumption. I actually didn’t read your answer. I also intentionally left out any indentation (I frequently forget to add one level, but an answer to you in this manner would be veeery unusual for me). I just wanted to point to the according FAQ item. The question was recently asked in COM:Forum, so from there I essentially know it. — Speravir – 00:51, 16 February 2019 (UTC)
