You don't need technical skills in order to contribute here. Be bold when contributing and assume good faith when interacting with others. This is a wiki.

Getting help

More information is available at the community portal. You may ask questions at the help desk, village pump or on IRC channel #wikimedia-commons (webchat). You can also contact an administrator on their talk page. If you have a specific copyright question, ask at the copyright village pump.

Goodies, tips, and tricks

Put Babel boxes on your user page so others know what languages you can speak and indicate your graphic abilities.
You can find the files you have uploaded in your Uploads.
Please sign your name on Talk pages by typing ~~~~.
To link to an image page without embedding the image, type: [[:File:Foo.jpg]], which produces: File:Foo.jpg.
You may enable gadgets (custom features) for your account.
There are several tools to upload files.
Have you edited Wikipedia before? This guide might be useful.

Made a mistake?

Do you want to have a file renamed or moved? Use the move link and wait for an authorized user to rename it.

Hey dude but this is my drawing my fan-art drawing a drawing I made myself taking inspiration from the subject, obviosuly I needed an image to take note on how I needed to draw him. We need to keep my images as well because the Kemonito page has none images and actually there are any free files of Kemonito on the internet, please we need to kept them. Request reason: "This is wrong, there is currently a discussion discussing the three files tagged as copyvio below - [1], wrong stuff here. Talking about other files, all of the files abve were discussed before deletion. The KeMonito files were a drawing made by myself which got deleted because it was fan-art, the DJ Qualls images were uploaded from flickr, there hey had a CC-BY license and I got tricked as they were not free images, you can check them - [2] (in this one there is even a Wiki comment) and [3] both were under that license and then got deleted here because they were not taken by the person on flickr, all of this files are discussed in here - [4] I never tried to commit any copyvio, I have being even helping Commons deleting copyvio files. The "Chocolate Abuelita" they were actually my fault, but that was two years ago when I had no idea of how Wikipedia worked. Request reason: "But that is exactly what I have being doing, I have being uploading files taken by myself, I have just been unfortunate with some stuff just like the ones I clarify, the File:Kodu videojuegos Conalep IBQA.jpg was taken from here - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XTHRcRFMLxw and it was a creative commons license video and the files File:Halcónes Conalep IBQA.jpg, File:Conalep IBQA Halcones.jpg were taken from here and as well as in the past file it was under creative commons https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4WYDvejYEvo I was not concern about the drawing, I even argued about that George Floyd derivated work and it was kept. The past uploaded files were at the time I know nothing about Wikipedia the Heather Orourke files or the Sara García files were from years I was starting on Wikipedia. Pleaselook if I have files that should been deleted check it now and take them off from here, maybe I have commit some mistakes but they are not on purpose. All I have being trying to do is to help Wikipedia as much as I can I am not here to make vandalism. Maybe back in the day I was lack of, but now I am concern and I want to be a Wikipedian. I also want to finish that not finished discussion for my file, yo ucan see I have being even proven identity for my images uploaded here, please."

Request reason: "Since July of the last year I was blocked for some unfree files, which I have argued about here before. I have understand what my fellow editors above have said about this files, but this were some little mistakes I didnt wanted to commit, however they happened and sadly they were the reason for my banning. I was banned before and I understand why, but this files were the cause of my failing once again, some of them were crops from CC videos of YouTube, which I thought they were able to be used. Both videos were under the CC template and I thought they were able to be used as little crops. Another example were the DJ Qualls pictures, which were this [10] and [11] both were under a license to be used again, however it was a tricky from the uploader and, it resulted they were unfree and this meant another bad file to my history. But in fact I have never tried to upload unfree files in any kind of manner, most of them have being mistakes that I do really will not commit ever again. Trust on me this time just one more time, files only done by myself will be uploaded here no more, not less, and if I found some flickr files that can be used or some old ebay files too, I will investigate further on them to be used. Once upon a time working here on Wikipedia was a part-time thing for me, but now I am taking all of this a serious way, thats why I want to make things good this time with no more mistakes. Everything was a misunderstood, I waited the six months to ask for my unbanned and I have not being doing any king of suckpuppetering to upload files.
